We had banana beer in the pub I work in a couple of years ago. I was a light ale with actual bananas put in during the brewing process. It was interesting.
Wells Banana Bread Beer - A seasonal cask beer, but more commonly available in bottles at a higher strength.
An interesting sounding brew, i've never had it, but i have heard from a few landlords that have served it on draught in their pubs that the flavour of the beer clings to the pipes for ages after the beer has finished and is impossible to shift!
Have had Waggledance from W&Y once or twice and that can be quite quaffable indeed!
OP, try a few summery pale ales, similar looking to lagers, but they have soooo much more taste!
Adnams Explorer, Hopback Summer Lightning and Oakham JHB are good bets (esp the formers other beers too, fantastic brewery)

Fruit/unusual beers are much more common on the continent, but there are a good few craft brewers over here who are dabblling more with those styles now too... I've had a Raspberry Wheat beer (Framboise) from a nearby local micro at a beer fest once not long ago and that was interesting. Very sweet, quite lactic sort of taste that can take your breath away on the first sip, you really have to like that sort of taste/flavour to really appreciate it, but a sterling effort none the less i thought.
I've had a chocolate beer too, Castle Rock Elder Ale (4.7%) also unusual and not bad.
Dark Star and Salopian are two breweries that spring to my mind mind for interesting beers, well worth googling and checking out their websites for info...

Kristall Weissbier is where it's at. Sometimes you can get this stuff in Asda...

Chuck a bit of lemon in it.

They serve Fruhli at my local which is a true fruit beer - tastes like strong lager with Strawberry Nesquik added.
If you like proper ale with fruity tones, try Badger Golden Glory which tastes of Peach.
Another Badger which is an acquired taste is Blandford Fly which is made with ginger.

I can recomend the Well's Banana bread beer, lovely stuff. For me though a couple is enough, because of its sweetness. Waggledance is another beaut, gorgeous stuff.
There was another I used to grab when I saw it, Marston's Firestoker , not seen it for some while now though, so may not be brewed anymore.
Can recomend Oakham ales , their brewery is in Peterborough , and their pub The Brewery Tap, is a must if you ever have the bad luck to be in Peterborough.
