wink full of them smile

Like hunting in the freezer & cupboards to see what I can do for this without going out in the car this weather (2.8 Z3!) and keep me amused today smile

Found pork steak, frozen peppers, onions, some consommé

Sounds like one of my Mum's 70's dinner party recipes is going to be made biggrin

Pictures method etc to follow smile

Should be working on my entry right now but I'm sitting at an Autoglass depot while they replace my cracked windscreen. Will have to have it as an evening meal instead! I'll be doing ribeye with home made thin frites, asparagus and hollandaise sauce, mushrooms and battered onion rings. So hungry right now!

Five Spice Steak with Mushroom and Prawn Hoi Sin Noodles

Ingredients

Everything ready to take upstairs to the BBQ

In the bowl ready to scoff

The five spice steak compliments the chilli and hoi sin in the noodles and the classic combination of steak with mushrooms and seafood. Works really well, recipe supplied on request.

Taken on a Canon SX230 point & shoot.

I'm making a Boerekos style beef stew this evening, that has at it's heart a mixture of ribeye and shin...

So as I think that "Stewing steak" qualifies, I'll be adding my entry, but with pictures only from my iPhone.

Hi all,

Welcome to my humble effort!

First, some MEAT... a 2" thick aged ribeye, and some fillet for the womenfolk.

The plan was for some simple rib eye with a garlic and thyme butter, with sauté potatoes, flavoured with shallots and garlic. A roasted mushroom using the same thyme butter and a roasted beef tomato with balsamic vinegar.

First off, bring steak out of the fridge for 3 hours. Season just before cooking with salt and pepper and a touch of garlic. Super heat my favourite cast iron griddle to shuttle re-entry temperature, then sear for 90secs on each side, then into the oven for 2mins at 160deg then 10 mins to rest with the garlic, thyme butter on it.

Boil whole potatoes, cool totally in Iced water, slice, and then fry in mixture of olive oil and butter. Adding some shallots and garlic for flavour.

Enjoy!

Was thinking about it as I was supposed to have a couple of days off this week. Unfortunately some muppet decided to break into the restaurant on Sunday and I have been sorting out the Police and insurance ever since! mad

Maybe if I get a few hours clear ranting
