I totally agree with this. I started with cafetiere then went up to aeropress. Taste was richer.
Then found with better beans ground at the shop, cafetiere was better than the previous bean with aeropress.
Interesting, I only tend to use the cafetiere if we've got visitors and I'm making more than 2 cups. Maybe I need do a side by side comparison with the aeropress. And get a metal filter to compare as well Then found with better beans ground at the shop, cafetiere was better than the previous bean with aeropress.

As for beans, probably already mentioned further back in the thread, but keep an eye out for local coffee shops selling beans. We have a couple near us that both sell really good beans.

Using Horsham Coffee roasters currently….
Good range, very good single origins that they offer a recipe for each varietal, and sensible pricing.
Seem to be very ethical about the buying of beans as well.
Was looking for a new supplier and have just ordered 3 bags from these guys - Honduran Swiss water decaf, a Myanmar, and a Brazilian.Good range, very good single origins that they offer a recipe for each varietal, and sensible pricing.

All beans so I can grind for filter or aeropress as required. Will report back!
