So here we have the first PH Cooking Competition Pancake day special!

As Shrove Tuesday is just around the corner and the looming death of the PH CC pending. Let's get a flippin move on and burst it back to life with some pancakey goodness!

You can have them in thousands of different ways.

There's the simple flour, milk and two egg variety, egg free, gluten free, veggie or how about the decidedly boozy Cointreau ones?

Sweet or Savoury the choice is yours.

THE RULES OF ENGAGEMENT ARE AS FOLLOWS*
1, No more than 3 photos to be entered unless stated by the theme setter.
2, Food must be prepare by yourself as much as possible IE not putting a goat curry in the microwave.
3, The competition will run from today to Sunday 9th March.
4, Voting will commence Monday 10th for a week.

Does it have to be sweet or savoury? Could you have 1 sweet and 1 savoury?

This is my crepe Suzette from Saturday night. My first time cooking it and all though it was most tasty I think I added a bit too
much orange juice (freshly squeezed) so the sauce wasn't as thick and toffee like as it probably should have been.

I'm not a big fan of complicated fillings, I prefer to use pancakes as a dessert, so after linguine and homemade bolognese I got the frying pan out.

The batter, which spent about 30 minutes in the fridge;

Cooking in the pan, this was the last one as the others all tasted great but I often didn't put enough mixture in the pan XD

Sprinkled with caster sugar and then rolled up for eating, this way I can it eat with my hands, sadly it's difficult to see the sugar though as I wasn't pointing the damn automatic focus at the right bit XD

I don't normally do desserts but we all need to show a willingness to keep the cooking competitions alive so I managed to produce some reasonably acceptable pancakes tonight, along with a blueberry, cassis, honey and butter sauce, accompanied by ice cream and squirty cream.

I'm not entirely sure about making a pasty for the next one though cos I don't do pastry either, flour, eggs and fruit just don't inspire me like a nice cut of meat does.

Not the most appetizing looking but very nice. Ham and cheese on the right and nutella on the left.
