Does having all the pictures make it difficult to go through? could just cut it down to the plated dish or next best picture.

It's ok I think... up to you! I originally said two pics per entry would be selected for the poll, and I intended to use the "whole pie" pics and the "plated up" pics. But what we have seems ok.

Ish! Normally a link back to the original thread is enough if people want to see the ingredients and recipes.

Keeps the voting thread a bit cleaner.

Thanks Shirt. Nice to know I almost got another vote, also went with taste rather than presentation.

Re the pictures, I'm with Badger on best picture and link to original thread.

Was supposed to do mine on sunday but was called into work for an easy 12hr shift furious
It was only a simple chicken, bacon and mushroom pie and not nearly as good as the stuff on here.
I have to say that i voted for Vieste, only because it reminded me of my mums pie that we used to have. lick
Some bloody great cooks on here.

Only a pie can satisfy.

Plenty of excellent pastryfication on show here.

Having made game pies before, there's something about port, venison and pastry that is hard to beat. Hence Badger got my vote this time.

Voted for captainzep's pie as it looked the most interesting to me, liked the inclusion of the layer of apple.

Good points, there is a link to the entry thread at the top of the poll, I'll cut it down abit then.

EDIT:

As for the photos. Do you think we should perhaps have a maximum of 4 pictures entered as we do now, however stipulate that the first must be the ingrediants, last a full plated up meal and then the choice of 2 inbetween?

Thanks Captain.

For some reason the homemade Port helped to.

Must be the extra few % ABV. :hic:

For my one, the essence is the "cow pie look"... just showing the slice alone (as it does now) doesn't do it justice at all. Need to have at least 2 photos.

Thanks. biggrin

But unfair... everyone should have two pics, or no-one. To even it up, can you remove the pic of the slice?

I made the decision that not everyone had a picture plated and one as a hole pie, which is why some only got one picture (like myself for instance). Else a couple would just have two of the similiar picture, does that sound logical? the other pictures are viewable on the other thread after all...

Which is why I mentioned above, that for the next comp we should have some structure to the pictures that need to be taken while cooking. cool

Sorry if it offended anyone wasnt my objective. hippy

Some fab looking pie's there! A few were in contention but The Badger's was the winner for me.

I've not had chance to enter the comp's recently but hoping that can change on the next round!

It doesn't offedn, but to be honest, it isn't exactly fair either; it should be the same rule for everyone hehe

I would have thought my pie with the portion removed was the best pic, but I've got only the messy plated up one. Since I'm not able to eat solid foods at the moment it all has to be mushy.
However, since everyone elses pies are way better than mine it doesn't really matter biggrin
