Congratulations captainzep!

If we are to keep the ball rolling on the competitions captainzep should specify ingedient/s for this month in a new thread; we can work it like the photo competition thread and run from 1st of the month. Winner to choose ingredients and then pick the top 3?

At his suggestion, Rick Stein's 'Far Eastern Odyssey' arrived in the post this morning.

At a quick leaf through, why I didn't buy this book years ago I'll never know...

Many thanks to the kind PH folk who thought my dish was a bit of alright.

I enjoyed making it very much and Mrs Zep belched long and appreciatively after every few mouthfuls , as is her uncomplicated way. The post-dinner violence was limited to a playful dead-arm which I accepted with gracious wince, and I was reminded how good food really brings people together.

I am currently stroking the therapy-cat at the men's refuge having a good think about the next ingredient choice, which I'll post on a new thread later this morning.

I like the open voting the forum poll allows. It encoraging to get a vote or two even if your way down the order.
