Not needed tbh. Unless it was meant as a joke, in which case you need some smileys.

You see what happens ... you go away for a holiday and come back and we've got all these new forums.

And I did have a smiley on the original post, but the machine hung when I posted it originally, and forgot to add it the 2nd time.

I'll just sin-bin myself. Job done.

So kinky, not content with calling old Gorv a nob, you're now telling him you were going to get him some nice biscuits but in fact didn't bother.

Ah, but the hotel did give us some fudge instead. But that's not as funny.

Well I thought so anyway.

Unless there is something funny about fudge?

The thought had crossed my mind - but the 'implications' would have been incorrect and unfounded and anyway I thought better of it for fear of Gorvid setting his estates hounds on me hehe

Hmmm fudge. Going to have to make some now!

397g can Carnation Condensed Milk
150ml (5fl oz) milk
450g (1lb) demerara sugar
115g (4oz) butter

Grease and base line an 18cm (7in) square tin with baking parchment.

Gently heat all the ingredients in a large, nonstick saucepan, stirring until the sugar dissolves.

Bring to the boil and simmer gently for 10-15 minutes, stirring continuously, until a temperature of 116ºC (240ºF) is reached on a sugar thermometer. Alternatively, test the fudge by dropping a little into a jug of cold water. If a soft ball is formed, the fudge is ready.

Remove from the heat. Beat until thick and grainy (about 10 minutes). Pour into the prepared tin and leave to cool. When cold, cut into squares.

Fudge can be stored for up to 1 month in an airtight container.

Might even replace the milk with clotted cream.
