Being a bit of a traditionalist I still think this is a bit premature but nevertheless...

Simple to enter..
Picture One: The ingredient and prep table.
Picture Two: The Service..as it goes to table.
Picture Three: The Reaction.. your cleared plates and stuffed guests at the end of the meal!

Custard/wing'd horse optional at all stages!

There will be a prize for this which I will donate!!

Do we have to have a picture 3? Of the 5 guests at ours this year 2 will have already had one christmas dinner that day, 1 is a vegetarian and the other 2 (myself included) will have cooked it and will therefore be looking disappointed at the lackluster reaction of the others. Nt that it'll be all that anyway as i still haven't figured out how it's possible to make everything on a standard size cooker.

Oh how I wish this would happen at ours. Hate christmas dinners. Might have to slide the curry idea into conversation.

I cooked Xmas lunch number 1 yesterday! Sadly, photos got worse the more we drank. By main course, it was a focussing disaster...

Rocket, radish and shaved parmesan salad, with pomegranate and truffle oil

Duck breast, carrots, parsnip puree, roasted aubergine and orange sauce

Pears poached in mulled wine, with mince pie ice cream

We then thought we'd have a vertical beer tasting...

Was quite full and drunk at the end! But happy!

I am always very envious of your photo-taking ability.

What camera do you use?

NB. Food looks awesome as always.

Been warming up the camera already today, seeing as I've already roasted the turkey and am halfway through making a trifle... No good shots yet, but will post something up when done.

So, here's my effort. Went a bit mental with the photos, sorry!

Start with a little help from some friends.

A little Wasabi powder

Celeriac

Peel

Matchsticks

Wasabi, mayo, mustard powder. Egg disaster meant a rescue courtesy of Mr. Hellman.

Sausagemeat, sage, thyme, breadcrumbs, banana shallots

Goose

Stuff

Whack it in on full blast

Drawing a few amps

Fillet of beef

Quick snifter for the chef, God bless you Keith

Sear

Mustard seeds

Crush

Wasabi paste and mustard on the beef

Wrap and freeze

Bangers

Reduce

Bacon and chestnuts

Red cabbage

Bottle of red

Cranberry sauce

When it's brown...

Spot of gravy

Lay the table

Plate up the starter

Carpaccio of Beef with Wasabi Remoulade

Served

Pile of meat

Sprouts

Roast Goose, Red Cabbage with apple and sultanas, Sprouts with bacon and
chestnuts, roast pots and parsnips, sausages, stuffing, gravy.

Done, as Mr Ramsay might say.

Oh, and as for the "after" shots, I'm going to spare you the sight of my mother-in-law sleeping it off and for this you should be eternally grateful hehe

Thanks smile The remoulade was from Maze by Jason Atherton (as was the carpaccio in fact).

Here's my effort, forget quality, Christmas is all about excess so here is my quantity

1 whole guinea fowl
2 types of sausages
bacon
potatoes
parsnips
stuffing
broccoli
cauli cheese (chedder and parmesan)
yorkshire pudding cooked by my aunt bessie
Marstons Old Empire Pale Ale.

Check out my gravy boat. I have it on authority the Queen uses similar before her Christmas address to the nation wink

The other photo's look like they forgot the main course and just did the starters tongue outbiggrin

Surf!

Shrooms!

Christmas Dinner 2009 - Surf and Turf with fine-dice goose fat roasted potatoes, garlic butter, garlic butter sauteed mushrooms and garden peas.

Mmmmmm. Hell, yeah. The steaks were an inch thick and hooooge. It was all we ate that day...

No pictures of repleted guests...there were just the two of us.
