Welcome to the official thread for the first ever PH DTP takeaway challenge.

Filth Vendor - KFC
Item(s) - 6 piece variety bucket

Edit - People who don't like chicken with bones can order the 12 piece deluxe boneless feast plus a large portion of popcorn chicken as an extra

Rules

36 hour 'window' to buy your bucket and make yourself ill trying to eat it all, and then upload the results.

Any sauce.

Any drink.

Any quantity of the above.

A single sitting competition with no breaks longer than 3 minutes. Otherwise that's a second sitting. No letting jealous other halves or friends help.

Documentary evidence is obviously by way of photographs. No restriction on number of images however you must arrange the food in the following way:

Please group together fries, wings, regular chicken and the strips in to piles on however many plates or platters you require. Take a photo.

Begin your challenge and either get your understanding partner to photograph the plate throughout or take a number of progress shots whilst taking a breather.

When you absolutely cannot eat any more take a final shot of your bones and the leftovers for adjudication.

If there's some left they can have that away from the camera.

This is purely in the name of research and fun. There's no prize other than a reputation of being a greedy pig so there's really nothing to gain from bending rules here. (Unless Mr. Garlick would like to donate one of course)

If we can cover from midday on Friday 25th, to midnight on Saturday 26th, allowing people to upload during this period, we should end up with more participants.

If someone from PH HQ would be kind enough to choose a winner based on quantity eaten, paying attention to whether or not the contestant has stripped the chicken from the bone properly and hasn't left excessive amounts on each piece before moving on to the next.

This isn't just about chicken but fries as well.

We wish you good luck and for god's sake don't choke.

This is a brilliantly terrible idea.

Falmouth beer festival is over those dates, and Falmouth has a KFC scratchchin. However, I don't think I'm in, but will follow with interest (though beer may change my mind).

Maybe some sort of KFC sponsorship could be arranged?

I realise such things as diets are frowned upon (although, it might be something common in the DTP?) but because of mine I'm already really looking forward to this. I get one proper, super bad, all bets are off meal per week on my current diet, and my recent refound love of Kentucky's finest means this a perfect challenge for me.

That bucket must have a football in it under the six pieces of chicken. No way does it look like that!

How are results verified?

I will not be entering, but 4 hungry people in this house, easy for us to eat a bucket of chicken and for me to claim the £1,000,000 prize wink

We are trusting souls. Besides, anyone who cheats would only be cheating themselves.

I'm having a large gravy with mine for lubrication.

I think some of us stand a chance of finishing.

I'm not saying that's me but some of you lads might.

MC - why don't you join us with a bucket meal for one? See if you can get it down in one this time?

Ill also add a gravey to mine.

Can't have KFC without gravey.

I've been thinking it through and I'm not confident of finishing.

6 pcs. 8 wings. Fillets.

Tough but it'll be fun trying.

I'll be upset if I don't manage to demolish at least half of it. The nutritional values for it all is worrying!

After that though, I'll be up for one of these challenges biggrin

One bad meal won't make you fat just the same as one healthy one won't make you thin.

and one bad meal per week gives you something to look forward to and a reason to be better the rest of the time.

I work on Friday and Saturday evenings so I may end up doing it a few days earlier and posting the pics during the official window. Its either that or bring the variety bucket in with me to work and watch the horror on my colleagues faces
