I went with my mum for lunch a few years ago as it was just around the corner from my old office and she had always wanted to go and I love snails.
It was good the snails probably best I've ever had but found service a little slow and stuffy tbh and it ain't cheap.
If you want French then Le Gavroche but easier to get lunch booking than dinner though.

If you're looking for something a touch more French, try the Bleeding Heart Bistro, which is cheaper (but very good) then the Bleeding Heart Restaurant. You can have a beer in the Bleeding Heart Tavern before hand. All located in Bleeding Heart Yard, unsurprisingly.
I've nothing to do with them other than the Bistro is my staple 'go to' place for French...

OK but nothing to write home about. Better for cocktails/beers in summer as long as you don't have suicidal tendencies. Bleeding Heart is better. Gavroche a league above both in overall "posh restaurant" terms.

L'escargot changed hands last year and as a regular patron it's not the same as it was. Go to Le Boudin Blanc in Mayfair which is roughly the same price and twenty times better.
