okay after much deliberation [okay 5 mins with a brew once i saw the thread just now!] and i'm going with one of my favourite areas of the culinary spectrum - street food.

wikipedia describes street food as "ready-to-eat food or drink sold in a street or other public place, such as a market or fair, by a hawker or vendor, often from a portable stall. While some street foods are regional, many are not, having spread beyond their region of origin. Most street foods are also classed as both finger food and fast food, and are cheaper on average than restaurant meals. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization, 2.5 billion people eat street food every day. Street food is intimately connected with take-out, junk food, snacks, and fast food; it is distinguished by its local flavour and by being purchased on the street, without entering any building. Both take-out and fast food are often sold from counters inside buildings."

i describe street food as the best reason for going on holiday.

only rule i will impose is tto stick with wiki's interpretation and ban fast/junk foods [burgers, hot dogs, pizza, kebab etc.].

do one piece for snack or mix up a themed platter for a main meal, choice is yours. have fun!

PS - I don't seem to have a hash sign on my keyboard!

yeah but they're too obvious and boiling a hotdog doesn't constitute cooking.

i will allow them [aren't i gracious] if some thought and effort has been expended.
