I smoke like a chimney, drink like a fish, and until recently I ate faaar too much red meat. Not at all worried about weight, but I would like to preserve my arteries for use in later life! So...

I cut back on the drink/red meat, and have been trying to come up with TASTY meals and snacks that are actually good for you.

One tasty super-fast-snack is sardines (tinned in tomatoe sauce) on toast lick Very healthy!

Switch from 35% fat bacon down to 3% fat bacon. Couldnt believe it when I realised last week Id been eating bacon which was one third heart attack fuel! Id never checked the fat content of food before.

Will add some proper recipes later.

Dude, there is some excellent fish out there and it is ultra quick and easy. Get some on board before it all goes extinct. I'm not a great fan of ultra light, subtle stuff; I want texture and flavour. Pan fried salmon or sea bass, tuna steaks, poached smoked haddock, kippers, trout baked with lemon and butter (a bit subtler, but damn me ...) All top notch in my book. Embarassing thirty second meal ... 2 smoked mackerel fillets, a dollop of creme fraiche, a dollop of horseradish sauce ... bash together into goop. Insert in baked pots, spread on toast, etc.
Fish is for girls wink

I'll give pan frying a go. Im sure I can find something tasty with loads of lemon and pepper which suits my pallet.

Take two slices of bread/toast, fill with tuna/mayo and cheese, wrap in foil and stick in the oven for 5 minutes.

Oven roasted chicken thighs with a salad is pretty easy/healthy and tastes good too, with the advantage that the chicken can be flavoured a dozen different ways.
