Tomatoes in sandwiches

I've just been presented with a small bap, containing a thick slice of tomato, a leaf of lettuce and slice of ham (proper ham). There was no butter/mayo, so by the time I'd removed the offending article, there was no moisture in the sarnie.

Personally, I cannot stand tomato in sandwiches. It's hard to bite through, and if the sandwhich is not extremely fresh, leaves a soggy mess.
