Last year we had a 'Trailer Park Road-Kill' BBQ, various woodland creatures cooked on a wheelbarrow BBQ.

This year it's to be a 'Safari Barbi', oil drum BBQ (we couldn't stretch to a Maori oven pit) and we're thinking python, ostrich, crocodile and kudu (these are just tasters - the main feed is normal BBQ fare).

Does anyone have any recommendations on recipes, alternative meats, pifalls, and sources (we've found a supplier but wondered if there were any that were rec'd for any reason)? Expecting about 50 pax.

Bon appetit.

For future reference -

Python - needs a marinade/long cook as is quite chewy.
Crocodile - Chicken/pork, nice slabs of meat the kids were all munching delightedly on.
Kudu - 'What's a Kudu?' 'Moos, eats grass, sh*ts everywhere...' Nice fillet, gamey after-taste not dissimilar to venison.
Chocolate covered ant - like ants covered in chocolate - nice if you like the taste of carapace...
Ostrich burgers - deeeeee-lish.
Monkey Gland Sauce - went down a treat, nice sweet'n'sour/hot taste.
