As a further sign of middle age and my continuing mid life crisis, I have decided that my life would be enriched if I owned a 'Thermos" type flask. It would enable me to imbibe hot tea during day trips and the like.

I would be grateful for any recommendations. I like products with a quality feel and it needs only to hold a good size mug full of tea.

Daughters are on standby to purchase the flask for Father's Day.

Thanks in advance.

OK, apologies firstly to the Ray Mears types. My most testing outing is likely to be to visit some National Trust properties. No plans for a trans world expedition just yet.

So, i popped in to Tesco this afternoon and for the princely sum of £2.75 I am (or will be on father's Day) the proud owner of a brushed aluminium finish vacuum flask. Unfortunately, nothing was available in a tartan finish. My thoughts are that I could cover it in tartan sticky backed plastic or similar. Failing this I may just purchase a tartan blanket/rug for picnicing purposes and hope this provides the desired effect.
