ETA Are The Levellers big enough to headline still? They've played the Pyramid in the past I believe and even though they're not a particularly high profile band these days they're Glasto legends who're already in attendance...
They put on their own festival these days:

Ned's are also playing so that has made the decision to go nice and easy for me!

yes

Their own festival doesn't stop them putting in at least one Glasto appearance every year it seems. I believe they've got the usual Thursday night Leftfield slot again this year? Hopefully it won't be raining quite as hard as the last time I saw 'em. It was absolutely torrential and I was just outside of the tent...

It's not Kylie it seems.

Betting currently suspended, suspect there will be an announcement in the next few hours.

Coldplay have been suggested as a replacement, but even U2 fans have threatened to petrol bomb the main stage if Chris Martin is spotted so much as a foot inside the Somerset County Council boundary.

It looks depressingly likely that Dizzee Rascal will be the one to get the gig. He's one of those marmite acts that everyone else seems to love, but I'm really not keen on personally.

On the upside, despite being hopelessly far fetched there is a vaguely credible rumour that Jimmy Page has been approached to get Led Zeppelin to put in an appearance. Don't think for a minute it'll happen, but the meer thought of having Muse and Led Zep on the same bill has already caused me to let out a little bit of sex wee.

he was very good last year, even those in our group who aren't keen on him really enjoyed his gig

Yep, I have heard that. Likewise Jay-Z went down quite well a few years back. His music doesn't do a lot for me on the radio, but there again the same (to a lesser extent) goes for Faithless and now I've seen them a couple of times I'm expecting them to be a highlight of the festie. Who knows. There's always Groove Armada and The Flaming Lips to investigate, not to mention Fatboy Slim and a multitude or other acts to check out at the same time. That's the magic of Glasto - so much awesomeness!

Has anyone here seen Gorillaz live before? I'm not a huge fan of Damon Albarn and the whole cartoon format is a bit weird, but I can see the potential for it to be good if it's well done, particularly with people like Mos Def and Snoop Dogg said to be making an appearance. My first reaction was 'meh', but thinking about, it could be difficult one now if they're any good.

Apparently Plastic Beach is a good album.

Might give it a go this afternoon.

plastic beach is excellent and I thought they were good live on jonathan Woss the other night - could see how a live show would be quite entertaining
