Having read the thread.....

I probably stood next to you at some of the gigs you were at.
Especially the Warsaw/Buzzcocks gig.

But to add my two pennorth....

Ramones....best live gigs ever.
Anti Nowhere League....Christmas on Earth Punk Festival, Leeds 82.
Blitz (all out attack ep)
Stiff Little Fingers. I so wanted to be Jake Burns.
Jet Boy Jet Girl by Chron Gen was great except they bottled out from singing "He Gave Me Head".

But as my Top Trump. I snogged Bekki Bondage at the Manchester Mayflower.

Lagartija Nick was actually my favourite Bauhaus track IN the 80s. I've only switched to In the Flat Field in recent years. Thanks for the link to that video though; I'd never seen that.

Seeing Loop play Arc Lite(?) at the Leadmill, and Gaye Bykers playing Shoulders at the same venue were great moments..

Awesome.

Old punks never die.... they just moisturise.

I met Dave Vanian & the Captian a couple of years ago when I was invited backstage.... went in and they were freshly showered, in white fluffy towels and moisturising their faces....

Fanatasy = ruined

They still rock though!

Rock? A bit I suppose, but The Damned became a shadow of their best when Brian left.

Yes, 'Love Song', 'Smash It Up' 'Just Can't Be Happy' etc are great songs, but not close to 'New Rose'

"Is she really going out with him?" smile

Other gigs:

I followed the whole Indie thing right through from Eddie and the Hotrods Teenage Deppression to Echo and the Bunnymens last lp
Bought killing Jokes last album about three years ago too.

Oh, don't get me wrong, all those post-Brian songs are great. I still saw them after he left and I have 7" singles of most of that stuff (I even have 'Dozen Girls' somewhere and bought the Black Album), I just think the band decended to also-rans a bit where they once were top of the UK punk pile!

Yeah, that list isn't exhaustive, of course, I did it years ago and I keep remembering bands that should be in there. A random add bloke on MySpace sent me a live recording CD of The Golden Horde in Dublin the other day.... you meet some nice people don't you? smile

Ahh my favourite group's best era falls within these years. The Cure. I spent my teens going around dressed as robert smith at school.
