Good Lord, I was there too!

It was Seb Bach reading out the letter - whether it was true or not, or just a publicity stunt, who knows?!

Do you also remember that there was quite a long delay before G'n'R came onstage, so to keep us all amused, the cameramen in charge of the big screens at the front started scanning the audience for girls, and when they settled on a girl, the whole crowd started cheering until they pulled up their tops for everyone's 'delectation' so to speak?!

Great gig, I am so glad I was there. I still have the original ticket too! smile
Yeah I was at that one too and remember it just as you lot described, letter from Brent Council, boobs on tv screens, NIN, Skid Row, and G n'R - it was ace!

Didn't Trent Reznor break the swearing limit and get his own gig at the Arena cancelled?

So we open up. First song, people are, like, ‘Yeah, there’s a band onstage,’ and they’re slowly realizing we’re not Skid Row. Second song, ‘Okay, these guys are not Skid Row and I think I hear a synthesizer.’ Third song, ‘We definitely hear a synthesizer — this is bullst. These guys suck, they’re faggots, let’s kick their ass.’ There is something about the feeling of standing in front of 65,000 people giving you the finger … An intense terror took over. In a word, it sucks.

From there, things went rapidly downhill.

I decided just to make it the worst half hour of this crowd’s life.

saw them at sheffield a good few years ago and Seb supported and he fkin rocked it.

bullet for my valentine were terrible.

gnr, have to say after a minor sound hiccup 5 songs in were absolutely superb it would have to rank in my top 5 gigs of all time.

the mosh for paradise city was one the most euphoric / near death experiences of my life, never to be forgotten it was incredible and almost indescribable - for people that haven't experienced that type of gig its difficult to explain...it was almost an etherial out of body experience.

anyway they were brilliant that night and i know they can be hit and miss but that night they go it soooo right.

Izzy Stradlin popped along for three or four tracks too. happy days

Coming on stage 2 hours late, or stropping off halfway through a show is so 90's though.

Looks like Axl,Slash and Duff so far hopefully Izzy confirms.

Tricky one with the drummer would be great to see Adler but apparently still has issues,

2 nights in vegas in april confirmed as well as coachella......... so tempted with a vegas trip to see them!

surely a world stadium tour has to be on the cards? rumours of about £3mil per night, would be a decent wee pile to retire on for them all.

with all these musicians checking out early, maybe cant leave it too long before getting to one of these gigs!

Think you can safely say it won't. But I'm sure it will be a spectacle definitely worth seeing!

Agreed

I wasn't lucky enough to see them first time round, so at least no memories will be tarnished!

Indeed, lets hope he doesn't sound like Keith Lemon as well, reports ive heard on here haven't been positive with regards to Axles voice.

Resurrecting an old thread after a quick search... Has anyone seen them on the new tour, or got any plans to catch them this year? I've toyed with the idea because, as this thread suggests, you never know who is going to turn up, however recent reports are that they'd pretty solid at the moment. Unfortunately, the UK dates clash with a certain 24 hour event, so I've taken the plunge and booked tickets for the Paris show in July. Be good to know if anyone's seen them recently.

Saw them on use your illusion tour, they were abysmal mostly due to axl,but he has his act together now so it seems, and will well worth seeing .
