I wouldn't expect them to blow me away with their live performances, but that is doesn't mean their crap.

They've only done one album, what the hell else do you expect them to play?
But that's exactly my point - since they appeared about 2 years ago they've written NOTHING new and just churn out the same old pap. They seemed good when they first appeared but they haven't progressed one iota since. That drives my "Emperor's New Clothes" position - people think they're good because they've been told they're good, but actually, stand back and look/listen for a moment and see what's actually missing......
Hardly any bands progress, they find a formula which their particular fans like and keep churning it out. Oasis sound the same now as they did when they started, the Rolling Stones have been playing the same hits for the last 30 years.

I saw them in the 'BBC Introducing' tent two years ago. I only stayed because it was pissing it down outside (and had been for three or four days) and I was sick of getting wet... frown

one of the few bands that make me spit my teeth out at the radio - utter, utter tripe and the sooner their time in the sun is done the better.

Just my thoughts of course - they did win an Ivan Novello so they must have made some records I haven't heard...

Against my better judgement, I actually quite like The Ting Tings. They're quite fun and don't really take themselves seriously. Certainly better than most of the other generic indie bands called "The Somethings"...

Yes, of course they do, but AT LEAST THEY WRITE A NEW FUKCING SONG ONCE IN A WHILE.

The Ting Tings only album was released in May 2008, expecting the to have a huge catalogue to pick from is pushing it. How often do you think a group should release a new album?

Doesn't she claim to be 26 now? I think more like 36, but whatever...

By the rationale in this thread Leftfield would be a st band because they had what, a 12 year gap between albums?

The fact that Rhythm and Stealth turned out to actually be st (other than Phat Planet) is merely conincidental.
