I like Carcass.

Especially "Necroticism: Descanting the Insalubrious".

I've even got "Symphonies of Sickness" in the subsequently-banned gatefold.

Mother Parakitamol, if I may become the guest preacher for a moment?

My children, there are no truly bad songs. That may shock some of you but let me tell you this. Jesus will not judge you for your taste in music. He doesn't care what band you went to see because your then girlfriend wanted to. He doesn't care what music you like because your parents used to play it when you were a kid. Doesn't even about the awful 70s stuff you listened to off the radio when you were sick from school and there was no daytime TV.
Just as you hold The Stranglers - No More Heroes within your heart so todays generation will hold JayZ - 99 Problems within theirs. Because music is not about music, its about emotions and memories. It doesn't matter if people call you a geek for what you love or gay liking certain artists, its about what you like. Its a cliche, brothers & sisters, but it really is the soundtrack to your life and what is important to you. No one else. Do not let the sins of others judge you, let him who is without sin cast the first stone....

She can't fking sing! Ok? She can't fking sing! She can't carry a fking Waitrose bag let alone a fking record. Its all on one fking note, she just drones! It might as well be an edited version of one of those stupid bhes off The Hills talking, like into a mike you know. Its not a proper performance, its not even a proper song, for fks sake!
Its like some little spoilt brat said "Daddy make me a pop star," and he said "Here's a zillion Mr Record Producer. Lets make a song about Romeo + Juilet & princes and princesses and all those little Bratzz bimbos cluttering up our shopping centres will rush out and buy it because its dead romantic like. We'll make a fortune."
It just sums up our society when a girl who can only drone with no emotion or feeling what so ever can make it to the top of the charts.

Great stuff
I'm with you on this.

Songs / tunes / music follow you throughout life. Most are associated with certain passages in your life, some will stay forever, others will come and go. But on hearing them, the memories will flood back. Hear a particular song or tune, and - for me - a particular memory comes flooding back; some good, some bad.

For me, this is bad (but a great tune):

Mother P, forgive a poor unenlightened soul...

My first record bought for me was 'Puppy Love' by the Osmonds and I still like 'Crazy Horses'. The Nolans will still get me up and bopping around, and I have a weird fondness for 'The Lightning Tree'. To top it all I think I prefer Mike Flowers Pops version of 'Wonderwall'.

Oh the shame. paperbag

I'm afraid not, Mr Ace, for I have a defence.

Saturday Night is about joy. Its about that time in your life when you could go out in the evening and meet someone new and your life could change. Or you could just end up having a dance and drink with a friend but still have a great time. Now for me that time is long gone but it makes me think of that era in my life and I smile. And that's the major difference between the two. The people who made Saturday Night know its rubbish and the people who listen to it know its rubbish too. But its happy, bouncy, fun rubbish!

Taylor Mallratwitharichdaddywhothinksshesapopstar isn't fun. Its souless, dreary, market targeted, manipulative, rubbish made by a girl who knows that one hit will enable her to exploit the 13-15 year old young girl market who, having never listened to any female artist who writes their own songs or actually can give a vocal performance, will think she's deep and like, meaningful. I assure you in two years it will be Taylorwho?
