Lets look at our guitars thread
Discussion
I’ve been using a Mustang GTX 100 modelling amp for a year or so. It’s been ok…ish..plenty of punch and some of the sounds are really good, problem is just finding them. I generally only use two actual pedals, and MXR distortion + and a boss chorus. However, I also have a Twin which of course is wonderful but very heavy. My treat to myself, Twin Tonemaster. Haven’t used it in anger yet (band practice next week) but so far I’m back to the sound I want

What about keeping with the tin can theme but going for the top of a golden syrup tin with the lid that you pry off, recessing the outer can into the body.
Would you believe it? I chucked away a golden syrup tin just last week! Anyway the cavity isn't that large, only contains a single pot and a few wires. A bit of sheet plastic the size of an egg will suffice. I'll still recess it though.Recently acquired Fender Ultra Strat and a 15y older purchased Les Paul Custom
First guitar was a Squire Strat which still have, added a PRS Standard, the Les Paul and a Joe Satriani Ibanez. My goto guitar for just messing around was usually the PRS.
Had a long hiatus from playing ~10y and just getting back into it and so picked up the Strat. It’s fast become my favorite guitar Fender have done such a good job of modernising, especially love the new neck.
I was torn between this and one of the new Ultra Teles and in the end got the Strat … more guitar for less money IMO and had a soft spot for them since learning on the Squire but an Ultra Tele is next on my list now

I've been using a Tonemaster twin live for a while now and I really like it. We had a sound guy at the last gig and he reckons that the DI out is so good on these that it's not worth hassle of mic'ing it.Tonemaster Top (15KG)

I was starting to wonder if I should look at getting a Tonemaster Twin as my Deluxe reverb (older '64 Custom valve version) is struggling a bit with clean headroom over our newer/louder drummer. We play as a 3 piece, so perhaps it's also only having one guitar now.
Anyway, last Friday I thought I'd take my Marshall mini stack to rehearsals to try out. Not the usual first choice for a 'clean' amp, but it's so flipping loud that I usually have an attenuator connected between the head and the cab. Turns out it's perfect for keeping up with the louder drummer and my Marshall style pedals sound great into it for the songs I need more dirt.
Gratuitous picture of the SV20H with a custom 1x12 (Greenback) cab that I had made back when I had the 1 watt JMP head, but it suits the SV20H just as well:

I used it fir the first time in practice room (not complete band) but found the reverb a bit too edgy/brittle. Did you upload the mod for reverb and did it improve? I know I can do this and I think it also comes with a celestion type mod (mine has jensons)
No, I'm using a reverb from the Helix rather than the one on the amp, which is miles better!Don1 said:
No, I don’t think it is, but Nuno has met and played it. But didn’t like it enough to offer right there and then
Genuinely interested..what does 'met and played' mean?Sounds a bit like 'looked at and picked up'...I assume it means more than that?
