Wilko Johnson :(

Although he cancelled two gigs at the Oysterfleet...I believe he at least got up and played with friends at the Railway. Who knows? I feel pride at being at his final show, but I'd rather he keeps playing...fights this...and has a good few more years.

He got up and played with the Roosters on Saturday at The Railway - Jeff the Roosters guitarist is apparently a long time fan. there is some video floating about. Did about 8 mins all told. Wouldn't be surprised to see a couple more cameos down there...
Annoyed I missed it as I live a stones throw from the pub!

Just to let all Wilko Johnson fans know, he will be playing Guildford (G Live) on the 6th Feb 2014. Tickets go onsale on the 11th Dec (tomorrow)at 10am. Please don't ring before then as ticketing can't sell you anything!
Mods, please excuse if you feel this is advertising. It's meant only in the spirtit of letting folks know, as this may very well be one of his last gigs. I fully understand if you take the post down.
Saw him last night - over one hour on stage and an encore (for Wilko, not me...). Barely a gap between the songs and all three band members seemed to be enjoying it and givin' it large.
He's on again tonight and then...who knows?
A force of nature and terrific showman, great gig, very loud, nice to be so close to the action too(the Forum in T Wells is tiny).
Hope he keeps it going, but grateful he's chosen to play his way out. Top fella!

He's doing a gig with Roger Daltrey at the Shepherd's Bush Empire on 25 Feb to support an album that they have recently recorded. Could be a good night.

That's great news. The operation used to be known as a Wipple (sp?) and was risky and life-changing if successful. Chris Rea is a success story here. (Alas my mother wasn't a suitable candidate.)http://www.essexchronicle.co.uk/Wilko-undergoes-li...

But this story implies it's a new and hopefully improved procedure. Fingers crossed.
