I was at Rockness over the weekend, it was great Almost worth it for the scenery alone!
+1 amazing weekend! the strokes were brilliant. Just on the lookout for a TITP ticket now.MGZRod said:
Was anybody here at Download?
Buttscratcher!!!
Yes, me, though only on the Sunday.Buttscratcher!!!
Highlights: Slash - utterly blinding set, to the extent that if everything afterwards had been cancelled, I'd have still gone home happy. Saxon (yes, really) - played the whole of the Wheels of Steel album and really won the crowd over (a very big crowd too, given that it was so early in the day).
Lowlights: Cinderella - ageing poodle rockers who have not aged well. My vague recollections of them in their prime was that they were cr@p. Now they're old & cr@p. The rain - literally soaked to the skin from head to foot for 5 hours - not funny.

saturday was the same again, only rage against the machine were any good, wish I'd spent some time at the smaller stages
really enjoyed sunday, saw loads of bands at all the stages and not one stinker, highlights were Slash, and Joel from airbournes crazy climb up the stage in the pouring rain :-) (that got them turned off and earned him a bking)
low point was missing motorhead as we'd finally had enough of being soaked and went back to get waterproofs and pack up the camp

- TCV were very good
- AC/DC weren't my thing, and the whole arrogance about "their own stage" didn't really sit well with me - no-one else has done that!
- Senser were f'n AWESOME. Last saw them on Valentines Day 1994 (Stacked-Up tour with Skunk Anansie supporting), and was so hoping they'd be back on-form, and with Heitham up-front they were - definitely check them out as I think they're touring (I'm going to see them at the Godiva Festival on Saturday).
- RATM were very good - glad I finally got to see them
- Megadeth weren't bad, and doing all of Peace Sells was pretty cool
Other stuff:
- Cancer Bats cover of Sabotage was cool
- Genitorturers stage-show was entertaining
- disappointed to miss STP on the Sunday, but I heard Scott was pretty strung-out again...
Slash was great at Glastonbury too. I was a bit worried that they'd play too much of the new stuff but they seemed to know what the crowd wanted. One of my highlights. Gorillaz were a bit disappointing but the closing song, with Snoop, just about saved it.
George Clinton was the biggest let down for me. It was just bad. I fked off before the end. Luckily the evening was saved by drunkenly wandering into a random bar in Shangri La to discover Neville Staple (from the Specials) starting a gig. It was great.
Watched Orbital over Stevie on the final night and didn't regret it for a moment - brilliant.

Suppose its about 90 minutes walk from the other stage, all things considered.
'kin hell good to know thanksB&B was great too, proper double bed, cooked brekkie in the morning and warm clean shower
highlights - delphic, wild beasts, muse, holy fk
good - gorillaz, florence, editors
pleasantly surprised - vampire weekend, stevie wonder
disappointing - MGMT, faithless
regret - seeing faithless rather than lcd soundsystem, seen faithless 3 times now and that was worst set (new stuff not so good, too light, too quiet - not sure) and rumours are lcd might split up soon and they were awesomw at wireless 3 years ago

I'm considering Wireless, if I can get another ticket.
Didn't factor in you had access to a private gate, if you'd have to walk in on the orange route, I stand by 90 minutes.
might be able to help you out as struggling to buy a single on ebay, actually think they may still be for sale from websiteDidn't factor in you had access to a private gate, if you'd have to walk in on the orange route, I stand by 90 minutes.
(it was only a few more minutes to entrance B)
