Watched the first prog on Sky Arts - Tom Jones.

Bit of a rambling natter. Brian Johnson full of himself as usual, Mark Knopfler seemed a little hesitant to speak and Sir Tom was great.

I used to see BJ in The Queens pub in Shieldfield (a suburb of Newcastle), pub now long gone. This was back in the 80's but he always came over as a canny, genuine, guy. We used to bob over there at lunchtime when I was doing a day release course at the old Poly across the central motorway.

You always knew he was in as his vintage Triumph car would be parked outside, so always a car fan even back then.

I spent a bit of time with Knopfler a couple of years ago - a nicer and more down to earth man would be hard to find. It's easy to forget he's a global rock god when in his company... the sort of chap to ask you lots of questions about yourself - and then remember your name 3 months later. Remarkable.

I watched the second episode featuring Sam Fender yesterday on catch-up. I enjoyed it, Mark Knopfier seems happy with Brian Johnson taking the lead in the discussions. I’m sure he could have got more involved if he wanted to. Presumably the producer was happy with how it went.

Yes, I'm sure he's alright in company or on a one to one, in the interview with Sir Tom, he took the lead, Mark K, sat back and let it flow.
Others have said the same, Brian is OK, maybe it's set up for him to be lead interviewer.
Anyway OK programme will watch the series.

Watched my recording of the Cyndi Lauper interview and really enjoyed it.
TBH I don't know that much about her other than the couple of big hits and that i saw her at the John Lennon memorial concert in Liverpool back yonder.
Her history and comments were great and the bits of M&B wandering the streets of NY were entertaining and enlightening. TBH I never realised Mark had lived over there but there again I think everyone in the music biz has at some time.

She must have had a fantastic life in music, looking forward to watching this. I’ve only watched the first two in the series so far, I stack stuff like this up on the Sky box to cheer me up on a rainy day.
