I used to hate Marillion with a passion when they were big,Kayleigh used to make my skin crawl when it came on the radio.A couple of years back i saw Fish at my local racing circuit(Knockhill in Fife)supporting The Quo and a possible part reunitement of the Alex Harvey Band(didn't happen)and i have to say that Fish was absolutely fantastic!Hell i even liked Kayleigh live,funny,top guy too(obviously,being Scottish!)really down to earth.

Been fans since year dot, the house is called Fugazi (and the company when I had it was Fugazi Consulting Ltd) and it's because of Kayleigh my wife and I got together (long story)
My bro in law is a good friend of Fish's so we've met him a few times at gigs ... top bloke, still has a lot of power in them there lungs.
Steve Rothery ain't half piled on the pounds mind ...

I've been a fan since I was a kid, but when they split I tended to follow Marillion with Steve H rather than Fish. They've always been an 'uncool' band to like, but they are awesome musicians and there really isn't anyone else remotely like them.
I've seen them live a few times but sadly never during the Fish era. However, I'm quite looking forward to the Fish gig in Newcastle in a couple of weeks. Does he play much Marillion material in his live set on this tour?

Normally he doesn't but as it's 20 years since the Clutching At Straws album came out he's playing it through completely for the second half of the set (last year he did Misplaced Childhood, shame he didn't do Fugazi the year before!!).
He's an awesome showman, seen him at least a dozen times live and have never been disappointed, usually quite happy to chat to fans too.
I think Marillion are fabulous musicians and I really like Steve H's voice but I think that post Fish they can be a little bland, I still go and see them when they tour and have all their records but have always been slightly miffed that they've never been as good as they were way back when.
Fish's music is quite different (a lot heavier) than his Marillion stuff so it's difficult to draw comparisons, still IMO no where near as good.
