isnt anything thats being amplified or recorded of white origin? smile
nobody answering this then?
No, it's not. What's more, your proposition makes no sense.

the blues, as I understand it, began as songs from the black slave communities in the southern US. By your logic, once recorded, this would then be of white origin. This simply cannot be right. Please clarify your point.

Speaking of racism in music, what about that racist song 'Ebony and Ivory' by Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder, all about how blacks and whites can live in peace.
What about the Chinese eh?

I'm pretty sure that white artists have won MOBOs. Its 'music of black origin' - not 'music by black people'

Music of white origin, as someone pointed out before, is The Proms for example.
Yes, they have.

JLS. Who wrote the music (ie. the origin of their tracks)? Yup, predominantly white people.

MOBOs have virtually zero credibility, and it was nice to have this confirmed by a musician, who happens to be black. He reckons that the MOBOs have long since been irrelevant.
No, I don't think you get it. It's not about what colour the person is who wrote the music. Its just that they use 'black music' to refer to music such as RnB etc. So if a white person sings some reggae, they can win a MOBO.
If a black person sings some country music, they can't win a MOBO.
I do get it, the problem is that a band like JLS produce nothing more than average pop music. Its not RnB. Heck, the majority of RnB, at least the stuff that I see and hear on MTV down at the gym is predominantly dance music, not RnB.

I have no problems with a white guy playing the blues winning an award, as ultimately its the music. Problem is that the headlining acts like the aforementioned JLS are definitely not even slightly worthy of a MOBO they're in it purely down to the colour of their skin and popularity which will subsequently increase interest in the show.

Thats a fair point. And regardless of what music JLS play, any ceremony that awards them highly has no credibility anyway!

And that is exactly why no one likes the MOBO's. I have friends that have been acts on the MOBO's and they can't stand the show. Its a necessary evil.
