Glastonbury 2014 line up
Discussion
Now I am getting excited, some great bands announced so far though not the running order.
Who's going and what appeals?
Potential highlights for me:
Disclosure
Pixies
Black Keys
London Grammar
Arcade Fire
John Grant
Elbow
Massive Attack
Mogwai
Four Tet
Rodrigo y Gabriela

I'll be there.
Really looking forward to it, but what I like about this year's line up is that it's got a good collection of 'daytime' bands. It's not a handful of really expensive headliners and then legions of acts you've never heard of. That said, if Metallica turns up (bizarre as that sounds for Glasto) my life will be complete.
Also looking forward to seeing:
3 Daft Monkeys (seem them at the last two - they're great fun)
Manic Street Preachers
The Black Keys
Robert Plant
Blondie
London Grammar (no idea what they're like live, but one of the more interesting indie bands at the moment IMHO)
The Beat
The Wailers
Kaiser Chiefs
Massive Attack (never seen them live but heard good things)

First year for a long time I really wish I was going, headliners (apart from Arcade Fire) pretty weak so far but lots of strength further down the bill. I'd be going to same stages/tents as you I think bar The Pixies (saw them at Glasto in 89 and got very bored). Who's going and what appeals?

As for Massive Attack mentioned in another post, seen them twice once on Mezzanine tour which was absolutely fantastic and also at Bestival 2009 where the sound was abysmal which ruined their set..hope you get the former this year as they are a great band.
Looking forward to it on TV!
6th year on the trot for me, allowing for one fallow year. This year we got coach tickets, so are having to travel light ... Buswanker! It will be a different experience, the group I go with normally take a carload of camping kit/food/booze which won't be possible. I like Glastonbury's policy of "you've paid your ticket, we won't now fleece you for everything" even though I inevitably do spend a reasonable amount on booze/food/band t-shirts once inside.
I'm looking forward to, in no specific order: Interpol, Mogwai, Arcade Fire, John Grant, Manics, Elbow, Pixies, Massive Attack, Kasabian, Phosphorescent, Midlake and Dolly Parton for 'legend' value. They're my must-sees, anything other than that will be a bonus. I'm going with my wife for the first time, she last went as a teenager pre-Superfence as a, ahem, 'uninvited guest' and was put off by the crowds so not been since. I have pointed out that it was people like her that led to said fence going up and explained that it's all a lot more mellow these days but she's still convinced we are going to get shot by moody drug dealers! THere's more chance of slipping over on a carelessly discarded falafel!
Good luck to anyone trying to get resale tickets.

hmm, last time I saw them live they were shyte, Finsbury Park in 2002 - BRMC were supproting and were much better
still a good spectacle I suppose
I was at that too ... full of wannabe Liam's giving it the biggun, strutting around with the monkey walk, or possibly just crapped themselves due to a lack of portaloos! still a good spectacle I suppose
Hope it's true though ... I liked them, first two albums.

Bored of the Pixies in 1989! Bet you were the only one, that was their hay day. Maybe you will like them more now they are in middle age.Gassing Station | Music | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
