there's free car parking at Marston Green station which is just a few miles from the NEC itself
x3 trains per hour, next stop on the line is Birmingham International (which is connected to the NEC)
That is exactly what I have done today, free car park was full though so parked around the corner on a residential street, train was £1.90 return and only a 2 minute trip.x3 trains per hour, next stop on the line is Birmingham International (which is connected to the NEC)
Cheers.....Tony..
I've been going to the autosport show since 1992, paid for car parking about three times.
Make a full day of it, we allways hang about till the very end, until we get kicked out allmost, then a drink and a walk back to the car and you'll find the car parks allmost empty.
The attendants go off/home about half six and then leave the barriers up.

This happened to us last night, drove up to the ticket barrier at around 6-30pm intending to pay and found the ticket booth closed and barrier up. Just drove straight out.Make a full day of it, we allways hang about till the very end, until we get kicked out allmost, then a drink and a walk back to the car and you'll find the car parks allmost empty.

I don't care really how much it costs as long as it's reasonable value for what you intend to see/get/receive in return. I've attended shows for many years. The Autosport show now comes rock bottom. Much you could see at a PH meet.
The Classic Car shows are better value.
But chrise, how things have changed. I remember going as a young teenager in the 60s to almost every Racing Car Show... you simply couldn't wait, every stand had something to look at, something new, radical, the famous (now called celebs), mouth watering stuff (inc girls!). And it came just months after a often brilliant Motor Show - TVR stands.
Ahh nostalgia!
Whereas today everything revolves around how much they can rip you off.
Have a look back. All short clips of just over a minute.

Here's a clip for what it says is the 71 Motor Show (think it's later) which should appeal, even without a visit to Lilley's TVR stand!
