Not impressed with the 'detailing' on mine. I could have done a better job myself. I might even have wiped all the polish off and cleaned the water marks off the glass.

I wish we had just done it ourselves really.
Paul, it's a good job we decided to clean the wheels and tyres ourselves wink

I'm going there in a bit so will see what state mine is in...

Hi noman,

Yours looked pretty good actually - i think bright silver lets you get away with it. Should be there about 2.00, will give you a bell when we arrive.

Really good effort for everyone involved, especially those who allowed their own cars to be used. But I was amazed that some of the cars hadn't even been cleaned, let alone detailed. Some of them looked good, others had been washed but were covered in water marks, many were filthy. A real shame, especially under the lights.

There was very little explanation about the cars, many people thought they belonged to a company. I asked two people to stop touching the cars as they just walked over the barriers. Both times when I said it was someones own car, they had no idea, apologised and moved on.

A few signs, add a few spec sheets and clean the cars and it would have turned a good display into an amazing display

Saw a car I really liked, but can't remember what marque it was - it was grey, bit Donkerwolle-like or westfield, great lights that looked like chunky black telescopes, neat interior, and near the yellow classic Saab rally car. Has a letter stencilled onto the radiator grille - might have been an R or a K...

Spec sheets was my fault- I ran out of time setting up the show....lesson learned for next time. Sorry frown

Zymol are cleaning the cars throughout the show- so they can show how cars are cleaned to the audience, perhaps they are a little slower than we expected but I am assured all will all be completed before the end of the show. Its a shame, I certainly think we need some more assistance for next year.

Without your cars- the show certainly would not be as great as it it, so thanks for bringing them, and if anyone feels there car could have been treated better please see me on the stand or send me an e mail and I will do what I can thumbup

Parc Ferme method of detailing = quick detailing spritz and a micro fibre cloth - just completed mine myself with AutoGlym Instant Show Shine as they missed the tail gate / roof and skirts

Shortly before the show closed this evening I asked a chap and his son who sounded like they were scousers that it might be an idea to keep their hands off the Enzo. I explained to him as mentioned above that these cars were peoples pride and joy, and that it was great that they spent the time and effort to put them on display for all to see. The fathers response was but yeah it's like nice to say we've touched one! They then departed.

we saw a young lad and his girlfriend doing the same thing, on the Enzo, Konigggggzegggg, and willo's Molser, very sad that they felt the need to do that. The roping off didn't seem to deter people from getting a closer look either frown

I'm with a lot of you, I don't think my car was touched at all, maybe a case of being in 'the other' hall?
I'd have stayed on a bit to clean it myself if I'd known... actually, I wouldn't have brought my car at all! I was without it for far longer than was required (it's my main car) on the understanding that it would have a bit of a going over by Zymol...

It all seems to make sense now.

We were totally puzzled why peoples pride and joys were displayed in such a non perfect condition. I initially put it down to the weather.

After a full 8 hours of walking the show, me and my wife decided to treat ourselves to some zymol wax. We enquired about each one and eventually agreed on the £67 wax as a treat for the Tuscan. We were told about the £125 packs on offer but opted just for the wax, explaining that we had leather cleaner and shampo already.

I could't believe it when she refused to sell me the wax on its own explaining that she wasn't allowed to.

What a crock of sh*t.

Ps wish I had displayed the Tuscan now.

Pps What a great show - well done to everyone involved

Aaah, I wondered what car that was of yours, I noticed you were selling it, what is next on the list?

Really great show guys, felt a lot of effort had gone in to most areas smile Thanks for the icons area btw, it was nice to see much appreciation for my humble grale.

However, unfotunately I now must now have a bit of a whinge now and for this im sorry as I apreciate the effort that went in to the organisation. But; im 99% sure my car didn't get touched by Zymol's agents (although they did give me some good tips and gave me a finger dip of the £7k wax laugh) as there were a few telltale water marks. Next the LAA discount was a myth. Now I know £3 extra isn't much, but you failed on a promice so it was the pricipal really.

Finaly (then i'll shut up!), this one is a little borderline I know but; I went to your PH merchandise stand to get a couple of PH stickers to put on the car, the sum total of these came to £2.50, but I asked for them gratis being as a) i've spent a lot of my own time, effort and a little cash to get the car there and b) im promoting your site/club/business. Your guy refused these points and answered "you've had your free tickets haven't you"... Anyways, im not that tight so I paid the £2.50 and walked off. But again, it was the principal of it.

Other than that, the show was really great and I had a brill day so thanks! thumbup

Sorry again, but I felt I had to voice my opinion.

My GF did see some people being askted to step away from the cars by the secuity.
Having said that the Icons chain was down and there were people walking around next to the cars. When asked to step out thay were very nice about it. We put the chain back up and it was fine from there.
Like othere have said with a little more it could have been a lot better for the public.

Same, I don't think my car was cleaned at all, in fact I know it wasn't.

Now, considering I spent half a tank of petrol taking the car there, a £30 train ticket home, and another half a tank of petrol brining my car back home, I think I delivered on my promise and provided my car for the show over the 4 days, and therefore missed out on driving it for those same 4 days.

Piston heads promised to provide free tickets, which they did, however another of the incentives seems to have been blatantly ignored.

Piston Heads said:
And the best bit is the good people at Zymöl have offered to finish and detail the PH cars that are chosen to be on display at the show.
Piston Heads said:
It’s not too late to submit your car so if you want it to be seen at the show, and be pampered by the boys at Zymöl
**

The whole detailing thing was my main reason for entering and spending so much time and effort sorting out the car for the show. This was not delivered upon at all in many cases, including my own. To say this is unfair is an understatement, I held up my half of the bargain, Piston Heads clearly have not.

It was a decent show however I think there have been some oversights at the cost of some of the more generous members sacrifices, which frankly ruined the show for me and as such have dented Piston Heads reputation until a peace offering or at least an explanation is delivered.

My own car, on picking up, appears to have been given a going over with a buffer, rather than the detail/polish promised. If I'd known this was to be beforehand, I think I'd still shown the car, but would have spent more time on polishing etc on Wed eve when I arrived.
A Great show, but I do feel a little let down on the Zymol side.

edit: Leaving the show - I arrived just with the 'rush hour' of show cars leaving. What a truly stunning procession of cars, even in the darkness!
and the SOUND of all those engines cloud9

Now i'm not about to moan about the car not being detailed....cause i'm not that bothered, or only receiving two free passes when we're a family of four and having to pay for the extra two. But i would just like to say it all seemed to be a lot of effort for the owners of the display cars for little reward.
But thanks anyway PH for allowing us to show our car thumbup

Well must say I thoroughly enjoyed the show. I never thought my car would get much of a polish, if at all. 200 cars with 20mins each for a polish would take the best part of a working week to do. By the time I arrived at the show my car was bogging having spent 1 hour driving the back roads avoiding an overturned lorry on the M42. Went to the nearest Jet Wash by the NEC and then did the bucket and hose bit. Car looked OK to me, then yellow does look good under the lights.

The best part was the drive away. Leaving the NEC in the company of some fantastic kit was excellent. Very nice sound from the yellow Ferrari. Great show…however I did see some cars that pulled at my wallet….I must resist.

Thats not the point, it shouldn't of been offered as an incentive for those of us who were willing to sacrifice our cars for the days if it wasn't possible to deliver on said offer! nono
