Quick straw poll - Shall we have an introduction thread for ourselves our cars and our championships? Could be a good way for people who watch or who want to watch club racing in the UK to "know" someone and is always a bit more interesting then.

If a rubbish idea then fair enough but I thought it was good!! idea

See Fernando Alonso. Saying that, he's gone back up in my estimation this year but this is Club Motorsport not General so I best not go OT, I don't want to be the first one in the new forum to get kicked out I'll leave that to Jelly!!

I didn't know this was a democratic forum - we have to have public majority support before we can start a thread? biggrin

Well so far it's a positive response which is good so I suppose I better start then;

I'm Gregor Marshall and am in my second season of racing and I drive a Vauxhall Firenza Droop Snoot (see pic below) in the Post Historic (pre-74) and Classic Group 1 (pre-83) championships run by Classic Touring and Racing Car Club.

I'm Paul Robertson i 'm renting my car out this season, due to health and wealth issues. I have competed in the classic 2cv championship since 1993 and have competed in every 2cv 24hr race since then.
i now help organise the 2cv24hr race at snetterton and sit on the classic 2cv racing club committee.

Im Rich Morrow,

I compete in the Toyota sprint series in my 1988 Celica GT4, I am fairly new to motorsport, but I did compete way back in the CCC sprint championship in 1997 in a ford capri with some small success!

Planning to enter more sprint series in the midlands regions if anyone has suggestions?

Cheers

My name is Tony Crossley and I've been competing in one form of motorsport (sprinting, road rally navigation, karting, circuit racing) since 1996. I've shunned my classic car roots and I'm now competing in a new series for Japanese only cars called the Nippon Challenge, in this fire breathing (literaly) beastie:

I watched this on race and rally uk the other week. It looked like a fun race (including the flying mx5).

I'm Gareth Newton
Racing a Mk1 MR2 (#17)in the MR2 Racing series, organised by the same guy who organises the Nippon Challenge.
Got collected at Mallory a few weeks ago so a new car is looming for Pembrey at the end of June.

I think you raced on the Sunday and we were on the Monday.
Not quite a 100% new car, all the good stuff off the old car has gone on a new shell.
Were very lucky to be able to pick up complete donor cars for the price of a bag of chips...
