Oversteerxj12 is right about the Hamilton E-type being very badly damaged at Oulton. I understand that the car still exists but whether a rebuild is ever likely to occur, is down to financial considerations as much as anything else.
The car does still exist and I believe it has been rebuilt, it's just living at the back of a garage collecting dust now.
No, Malcolms car has recently been sold, .... I will find out more of its whereabouts, but I understand that the buyer is not a serious racer, more of a collector with plenty of disposable!!
Christ I HATE this type of Person.

Oh right, it was earlier this year or late last year when I saw it.

Tim - watched you vid - I have tried to work out if Peter S or Mike H are Overall TSCC champions - have asked Pam. Presume will only be one or two points in it whichever way it goes.

Really do not get poeple that buy racers and no not race them - CRETINS. Our car is pretty much fixed bar final setup and testing now - roll on 09! I don't think I am ever destined to win a championship (I don't count a TR Class Championship win years back)!

I think it may be Peter, Mike was not amused at all the Dtype's overtaking him in the race and him losing class points to us.

I'm delighted to learn that the car has been rebuilt but share your disappointment if it is not to be raced again. It's not as if it is a Le Mans winner (to be displayed as a museum piece), although even a few of those still get raced occasionally. It's purpose was and is to race, and it would be great if it came out in the Super GT series.

The days of the "old" AMOC Intermarque were truely fabulous. We had Malcolms E type, Gerry Aston, Andys Cobra, some Ferraris (!), even the odd XJ220 and Porsches galore.
The demise of the E type at Oulton was a watershed. The accident, like so many, was avoidable but the result finished the car forever. One of my most exciting races was at Oulton against Malcolm when he beat me by 0.000000001 (Ok, a little more than that!) on the last corner of the last lap. The good thing about that - well, the previous day in testing I had crashed and ripped the rear wheel off. Malcolm and I spent all night rebuilding the car.
That summed up the spirit of racing for me.
Hopefully, the AMOC will allow the new GT races to flourish. I wanted to do a few rounds this year but apart from Snetterton I did not manage it. Someone has to show that pesky Dave Ellis that Astons do not rule!!!!!!!
Heres to a great 2009 - lets hope we have the money to support our desires!
Cheers,
Richard.

Ha Richard, glad you are on here.

I have seen you car races loads of time. Awesome piece of kit. Be good if you do some AMOC races in it.

Have to see if the Thoroughbreds can do several rounds of the AMOC next year so that I can witness this.

Someone needs to tell Geoffrey Marsh to get the Aston gerry used to race back out there to show David the way round.

Thanks, Jelli.

Geoffrey is a peculiar type of man. Not only does he have the old Marsh Plant Aston but a new V12 powered one too. He likes to win; don't we all; but when the chips are down he seems to stay away. Not really sure why. I believe the new car has been out this year so we should applaud him for doing that. David Ellis' car is a magnificent bit of kit and once fully sorted will be hard to beat.
I suppose I am biased but I love the cars that have been home built and modified. We are pretty good at engineering in this country and the old mod sports and thunder saloon type categories used to be a good showcase. It also made the racing more interesting. Today, you can go and buy a one make car (finances permitting) and race it against others of exactly the same ilke. There is no room for engineering excellence and drivers tend to have to resort to bumper car rules to pass. Progres? Not in my opinion but maybe I'm too old!

Richard.

Have had a lot of chats with Gregor about the march cars (obviously he should just let me drive them!), and heard he can be a bit "different".

Agree on the old days and the days of modsports - suppose my TR4 is really Modsports (but I can just about get away with running it in a few series). My Griff will be semi modsports (if I ever get it built!), not FIA, I want it to stop and not kill me!

A few typo's and page not working on your web page BTW.

We have Gregor out karting on the 30th - Maybe Geoffrey should enter!!!

Careful Richard, you might sum Geoffrey up to well!! He's a great enthusiast and I could never fault him on that or his preperation and development of his cars. The old Intermarque racing was fantastic but I think it went a little too far in what was allowed in the end and that's what killed it off; some of that could be Geoffrey's or Don Law's faults but you have to push the regulations when possible I suppose.
I've not followed Britcar this year; are you still racing the Porsche in that?
I've heard rumours that the Astons will be out in '09 (I've not had an offer though!!) so we'll see if they come out to play; in my mind not the same without Dad but that's just a personal thing.

Jelly - don't tell everyone about the karting, you'll give up our element of surprise of my fat arse!!

The trouble with having a web site is you need to keep it up to date! Matthew, my son, is in charge and although he is halfway through his robotics PhD I'm afraid he can't spell or write a sentence in reasonable English! Some reflection on our education system I guess!

I'm very keen to run the car with the AMOC next year as I believe entertaining a full Britcar season will be too expensive. I think I will pick and choose the rounds I do thus making room for things like the AMOC series. I'd love to see all the cars out as they are a true spectacle.

We used to have good times back then. A few (too many!!) beers in the paddock the night before the race, turn up for qually with a raging headache and a promise to yourself never to do that again! Now, the paddocks are full of empty motorhomes as everyone seems to go off to a hotel for the night. Go figure that!

Cheers,

Richard.

Be interesting who he get to drive them - the usual bunch me thinks, Mallock, Pearson (fool with daddys cash). Mind doubt he put an up and coming F3 guy in the car as from their side too much to loose reputation wise. Some of the late 90's early 2000 TVR Tuscan Front runner type name would be well suited to the size and power to weight.

Anthony Reid tested last week apparently and to be honest most people who have driven them in the past (David Leslie, Mark Hales, etc) have really struggled, no power steering, servos etc (didn;t used to have anyway) and loads of downforce (you'd be surprised!!).

HELLO, I HAVE JUST GOOGLED MY CAR, ( LIKE YOU DO ) AND FOUND THIS CHAT ROOM. MY NAME IS PETER AND I OWN THE ROB BEERE / MALCOLM HAMILTON V12 RACER. YOUR CHAT FORUM SEEMS TO HAVE SEVERAL MISTAKES IN IT BOTH ABOUT ME AND THE CAR. 1. I DO NOT HAVE PLENTY OF DISPOSABLE !! FAR FROM IT.. I AM TRYING TO SELL ANOTHER CAR I HAVE IN ORDER TO FINANCE THE REBUILD. 2. NO, THE CAR WAS NOT SERIOUSLY DAMAGED AND IS EASILY REPAIRABLE. THE CAR DID SUFFER BODYWORK DAMAGE BUT NOTHING STRUCTURAL.. ONLY COSMETIC. THE CAR HAS NOT YET BEEN REBUILT AND IS MUCH AS IT WAS WHEN IT HAD ITS ACCIDENT IN 2001.
IF THIS CHAT FORUM IS INTERESTED IN THE CAR PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK QUESTIONS AND I WILL DO MY BEST TO ANSWER.

Hi Peter. Have a read of this thread. It will guide you where to host your photos and how to post them on PistonHeads.

Look forward to seeing them. smile
