Got on well thanks! had a ball and stayed safe. Got two really good starts from my fairly lowly grid position but soon then lost any advantage I had gained within a few corners! I am fairly off the pace of the main guys but at least in front of the other novices! One thing I learnt in test is not to be too courteous, moving off line continually to allow people through resulted in a signicant wheel wobble from all of the rubber I had picked up on my tyres. Thanks for your all your advice guys. Next outing is Silverstone in about 2 weeks.

Glad you enjoyed it, I was rather busy on Saturday so didn’t get a chance to say hello.
Like you, my early races were spent trying to be the fastest out of about 4 novices. Towards the end of the following season the four of us were still battling it out together, but now we were up at the sharp end. I was so concerned with ‘beating the chap who beat me last time’, that progress up the grid almost went unnoticed.
It’s so important for a championship to have new starters each season, that way everyone gets a race. The Championship I first started in is now populated by drivers who have been racing the same car for years, so anyone new gets left behind and is soon demoralised. It sounds like you have made a great start, best of luck at Silverstone. Is that 26th June? If so our paths will cross again.
Cheers
Andy
