A bit of a newbie question here.

I've just bought a competition/track car (Ginetta G20) and am hoping to start racing after doing a few trackdays in it. I thought CSSC, 750 MC that kind of thing.

Should the car have a CCLB or is this not necessary for all cars? If i need one, how do I go about getting one?

Thanks in advance

Circuit cars are not yet log booked, only rally and hill climb

unless your a historic then you need historic papers

^ What he said, no need for a Log Book for circuit racing yet.

If I can be any help ref CSCC stuff then please feel free to get in touch.

Oddly though, if you sprint or hillclimb, (in non road going classes) you will need one.

The regs of your event will state that you need one. In the event very few scrutineers ask for one and even fewer are willing to actually make one for you. You can get away with saying you normally race the car but just doing the odd speed event. If you are competing regularly though the scrutineers will eventually get fed up with excuses.
As its only £35 or so its not worth avoiding it IMO, and when you come to sell the car its a good thing to have.

I get asked for mine 2-3 times/year. As said, it costs very little, so you might as well get one. You'll probably find you can have it done at your next event too.

I got one earlier in the year with no problems, I just emailed a few local scrutineers (use the Blue Book appendices to find them), one of came around to my house to do it, took about 25 minutes.
