Hi Mart.

Can you tell me what that big ally knob thing is in the centre circle in the middle of your dash, in one of you dash pics, it seems to have a wire hanging down from it. Will it pass the SVA, it seems to not be very rounded.

Hi Pb3,

It's a sort of mouse for the PC. You can configure it to be a volume control, menu control, mute button, jog button etc. It's similar I suppose to the jog button in the new BMW's...

It will probably have to be fitted after the SVA as I wouldn't want to.... Eherm... confuse the examiner.. The wire will tuck through a small hole just ender the button...

Cheers,
Mart

Great looking dash Davrianman. Very tasteful. I am designing my own dash for my Saker SVS and like you wanted to use TVR switchgear. Are they a simple staged switch in terms of wiring them up or is there more work involved in getting them going? I won't be running air-con but do have a heater/fan. I also have the Aims dash but unfortunately wasn't aware of the "Icon" version which I am now looking at exchanging mine for with the supplier.

Hi Kiwi,

The TVR light unit is a doddle to wire. Each stitch position connects 2 individual pins together which can be used to switch relays.

The heater control is a nightmare. On the TVR, this panel is connected directly to the dash display system, which in turn is used to drive the aircon and heater controls via pulse width modified signals. I was thinking of making an interface unit to use this information, but to be honest, the easiest way would be to scrap the circuit board behind the unit and fit the standard aircon switch and heater switch. This means you then have to have an extra pot to drive the heater temp (I have converted to servo controlled).

Still TBD on this to be honest. An alternative is to use the TVR pots and make a driver circuit for the heater, fan speed and aircon temp using the PWM drivers on the Motec ECU... Not an easy one.

Hope this helps!
Mart
