Hi
I own a 2009 Ultima GTR which is in New Zealand. See Classic Car mag May 2009 article and search YouTube "Ultima GTR Hamilton".
I live in Queensland now and am considering importing it there. Certification in NZ was a drama and it looks like it will be more of one in Australia. Anybody want a brand new red Ultima GTR in NZ. Will sell at cost

Hi Mark,

Is it that difficult? From what I have read it should not be to bigger of a deal. If you know more, please let be know, I was intending to take mine out there beginning of 2011, Brisbane (or very close to).

Regards,
Phil

I would sell for $150K NZ dollars. It cost me that when I purchased the kit in 2007 before the economic downturn. $NZ was buying .82 US so I estimate around $172K at todays rates.
cheers

that would be ~120k Au, that sounds about right price wise. Good GT40s go for around that in AU, maybe a bit less.
Have seen ultima gtr's advertised at that price and up.

What engine and exhaust package.

If you have had it on the road for greater than 1 year in NZ and your passport shows you as being in NZ for this 1 year period, you could bring it in as a personal import (1 car per person per 12 months). there have been a few people that have done this with clubman type cars and the registration process was reported to be fairly easy. diferent story if you build it from scratch in Australia.

@grasser

not a very helpful post and blant, which is maybe not too smart either, just my 2 cents
still in question how much a car will be when you import it to NZ not too mention shipping cost !

+1

Grasser regularly confuses this forum with the Classifieds, I have noticed.

Phil...'snap' (well almost).
I'm seriously thinking of taking mine back home around January 2011 as well. At the moment it's a toss up between the wife's M5 and my GTR (because I'm already using my one car allowance on my 6 series).

I'd be intested to know if you've done any reseach into feasibility of getting a 'pink' slip in Australia (roadworthy certificate)?

The 'kit' factor may be an issue over there what with ADR rules being so hard e.g. the harnesses I have fitted won't pass, must be initia reels (so I've been told) etc etc...

yep exactly that is why I wanted to mention no need to advertise his experience (aka services) that blantly......which will probably have the exact opposite effect as intended.;)

Yes - I agree - He does have a lot of useful information.

It's just a shame that he didn't post any of it during the approximately 3 years 9 months he was a member of PH BEFORE he started to sell his services.... smile

i dont think insulting peoples pride and joys is going to gain you much work. I for one enjoy your technical posts but im growing a little tired of your blatant advertising, just my feelings.

IMO I feel this thred should be killed off now as it started off as an advert that should have gone in the wanted or for sale section and now is going nowhere ...

Surely if you want to advertise a car for sale or quote a price for doing it we have a place for that dont we. and hats off to Paul and Kyle for not joining in on a bidding match against Grasser to build as well.

Ive got loads of time at the moment after breaking my leg, and this forum is great for us all trying to help each other, take the micky and alot of guys here are very technical and helpful(Grasser, Kyle etc etc ), so why cant we just leave it that way and leave the adverts in the adverts section of PH??.

Dom

"Steve-B" did have a thread there a while back covering the process as he went through it.
