I'm curious to know how other road users react to your Ultima. Have you experienced any negative reactions from road users, or has it all been positive?

The vast majority of other road users (and pedestrians) seem to show a positive response to the sight of an Ultima (GTR in my case).

I tend to find that the car least likely to move over from the fast lane are MPV/Mini MPV, often driven by men who are the only occupant. Read into this what you will.

In town this morning a lady in a BMW stared open mouthed as I went by and you will get lots of pointing too.

even in car jaded Southern California the GTR causes a stir. Never had a bad comment or attitude towards the car, my only worry is people doing strange things in traffic trying to get a picture. Lee

+1 you do get some idiots hanging out of car windows at motorway speeds.

If you cruise on the motorway. 1 in 5 cars the passenger will take a photo..

never a bad word said , however, never be in a rush and need fuel...Always asked what it is, how fast etc when ever i fill up..

The advantage of these cars are , everyone knows a Ferrari Porsche, but no one has seen one of these and most think its a hypercar rather than a supercar you can build..

Love it

Bit off topic, but we caused a crash when another driver going in the opposite direction was looking at the car on the trailer when we were going to an event - drove straight into the car in front of him!

Better remember that when I take mine to the Garage for lights alignment then!

Lots of positve reactions which takes abit of getting used to, but you do get used to it and just come to expect someone to come along and chat or take a photo from another car on the motorway, most don,t know what it is which is the top question, one negative and he was driving a 4 x 4 and wanted the whole road to himself!

Totally agree, first drive ever myself from Norfolk to Hinkley had a nutter in a Ford Escort jumping up and down with joy in the drivers seat as I let him over take me. Also have been in fast moving traffic with a sense that all the surrounding drivers had more than one eye on me than enough eyes on the road ahead! Never a bad vibe, and lots of positive interest at the petrol station.

Thanks for your replies chaps. It's reassuring to know that the feedback is positive... someone close to me has been worried of late about road rage and aggression from other drivers. My reply to her has been along the lines of most people haven't a clue what it is and there isn't the same negative perception that you get with something like the 'usual suspects'.

Never had road rage. Few boy racers but all friendly. As said earlier, its cameras and people waving mainly.

Another +1. Uniformly positive between thumbs up and photo op. Only risk is on the freeway (Bay Area CA) when drivers unknowingly bend their direction of travel getting dangerously close to the GTR, while they or a passenger snap a few pix/videos.
Only folks who don't seem to show much interest are the F-car and Lambo drivers. Hmmm, wonder why?? smile

Pardon my utter stupidity and ignorance, but this is the first time I have heard of Ultima. Sorry!
What a fabulous looking car, with some very serious power plants installed! Utterly fantastic. I currently drive a DB9 which is great as a GT car and a joy on the road and "big" tracks, but I seek something awesome for the track only. Perhaps I have found the answer to my prayers here! I am a total ignoramus when it comes to
Ultima so any leads, advice, tips contacts etc would be gratefully received.
Many thanks!

If you want track only there are far better alternatives that are also easier on the pocket to run and maintain.

Only time I ever had a Negative was a biker that wanted to get past, funny thing is when the traffic cleared and I managed to pull over and stand on it myself, he couldn't seem to get past even with a empty lane and him hugging the tank for all his life.... Gave me the bird at the next round about, mind you my passenger didn't help laughing his head off....

On the flip side, same type of incident different bikers have given me the Thumbs up and stopped with me as I pulled over for fuel for a chat...
