I'm having battery issues and I'm considering getting either a Super B or Varley lithium battery, the cost is off-putting but there is tha advantage of weight saving and possibly battery reliance, has anyone used one of the lithium batteries?

weight is weight and it's usually bad in a car, but, since the battery is on the opposite side of the driver and the car ends up heavy on the driver side and perhaps a little more weight over the front axle wouldn't hurt. Maybe this isn't the place to spend big dollars to save a few pounds and the added risk of a lithium battery. yes, there is a risk of fire with a lithium battery. Just a thought, I'm
not saying this is an absolute, but maybe something for consideration

Light weight batteries may be fine for sum but Ive never had much luck with them personally Tim.

I'd go for a red top Optima in the passenger foot-well under a foot rest every time bud.....

Hey stranger, how you doing? The battery has been installed and so far works well with the "brain" that protects the charge. I used three odyssey batteries in less than 3 years, so I'm watching to see how it goes and will pass comment soon. Time for some more info on your build?

Oops there's an update on the other side! Anyone spotted the Ultima acting as a test bed for the GM T50 engine?

I'd be interested to see a lap times comparison between regular battery and lithium battery.

I'm using an Antigrvity battery, I've had it about 6 months, it's performed well to date and will crank the car for some time if needed.

I thought I'd give it try when the new Odyssey I purchased was bad out of the box. I must admit I was a die hard Optima fan until they switched to offshore manufacture and their batteries became junk. It was solidified for me when I returned the last Optima I purchased to Summit Racing and the counter guy said that's the third one today.... they then soon after reduced to a minimal and only pro-rated warranty in the US.
