While troubleshooting an issue, i was performing a continuity check across the terminals connected to the main beam telltale led in the dash while it was connected.
I had continuity, so assumed the led was good.
When i went back to it later, i disconnected it to check and no continuity, as it was blown.
When i checked continuity across the loom connectors, i get a positive, and it has 0 volts carried, even when main beam not on.
Once i flick main beam on, i get 12v as expected.
My query is, i was not expecting continuity when main beam not on.
Does this indicate there is a +ve/-ve leak or short somewhere, or is this the right behaviour on looms.
Is this to indicate to ecu when a bulb is out, for example?
