Horrible Ultima smash on the way back from a drive this afternoon. Seems like the poor chap was a little to eager exiting a roundabout on Lower Earley Way just outside Reading and hit a BMW head on.

Hi

I'm the S2ki member who witnessed the aftermath. A terrible thing to see, i do hope the driver is ok.

The Ultima was yellow and had a recent registration number although i don't recall the exact details. I've emailed a PH member with a Yellow Ultima.

Hi Guy

I found that site as well. My heart sank when I saw the "death crash" but somewhere else it referred to the driver as having been in a Lotus Elise......and I think that accident was the 30th.

that's not the accident. It happened on the Lower Earley Way in Earley at around 3pm yesterday.

I'm by no means sure but it might have been this car...

That's mine and thankfully it was not me.
Thanks for the mail and your concern in general for an unfortunate Ultima driver. I'm sure we all wish him well.

Glad to hear it wasn't you! Got a little worried there for a moment.
My prayers go out to those involved however.

Just to confirm it wasn't mine either.

Munkeyboy, you had me seriously worried for a moment there, putting Steve's car up. Not really the right thing to do even with the best of intentions!
Accidents always makes sad reading, even more so when it could be someone you know.

Except then you risk it pushing back into the cockpit and crushing you. No the most compassionate post jelli!

It's never welcome news to hear of any accident, be it in an Ultima or otherwise. Unfortunately accidents do happen. Just hope the driver is OK

Im sure I saw this car - driving along A232 around petersfield around 1pm on new years eve. He was heading towards petersfield. It was a yellow gell coat gtr, with rear wing, driven by a guy in his 40-50s .... hope not hurt! Trouble is the roads - even when they look dry at this time of the year can be really evil in somthing like an Ultima. I know from first hand experience - all that power can take you unaware very easily..... so take care!

Just found this.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/berkshire/4575792
Driver critical after collision
A motorist is still in a critical condition in hospital after a crash in Berks between two cars at the weekend.

The man, who has not been named, was seriously injured when his sports car was involved in a collision with a BMW on the Lower Earley Way in Reading.

The driver of the BMW was also injured and taken to hospital after Saturday's crash but has since been released.

The road was closed for three hours and police are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Hope the guy pulls through
