V10 in my ultima

How many centimeters do you think is allowed?
Sorry, I didn't take the filler plug (ex sump plug) out when I had the box out to measure it, but I couldn't even get the hex key in under the chassis member, if you're not able to move it forward or back a bit, just pop the gearbox off backwards a bit when you're needing to do a gear-oil change.
I'd recommend that you get an LSD fitted if you don't have one though, and it only cost me ~£1k from Quaife, and the car is much more stable when under full throttle.
Make sure you make us a sound track of the V10 when it's running...
Hello guys
It is an audi S8 5.2l v10.
I will take the FSI (direct injection) and inlet off
and make it with 10 throttlebodies (lambo gallardo (=4.8l)like).
Injection will be KMS (like Motec).
Handmade exhaust, etc.
The gearbox came standard with limited slip diff.
Because there is lots of space in front of the engine (15 cm),
I am thinking about putting the gearbox and engine 3-4 cm forward.
will there be big problems like with the driveshaft or something else.
The uprights are not delivered yet so I cannot measure.
Just taken the standard enginemounts out
and a bit of the section under the engine.
I am going on holliday next month, wanted to put it in before that.
If you ANY thoughts or suggestions please let me know.

Hello,
i see we are almost neighbours...
so if you need info/parts just let me know and i'm sure i can help you. About positioning your engine gearbox, make sure your driveshafts run as straight as possible and dont use the small "ultima" driveshafts because they get too hot especially when they are not running straight. We made adapters to bigger driveshafts and its virtually indistructable right now.
I you want to i can give you the centerposition of your upright compared to a fixed point so you can proceed with your work...
And as i said before i have a huge amount of parts for ultima...

Hi Joop,
I was just catching up on my reading. Interesting to see that you have made so much progress. I'm not a builder myself, but I take it that with KMS you mean Kronenburg Motorsport? Will they also be building your exhaust or other components?
Grtz
Erik
hey tete du fromage's
So there are some ultima's in holland after all!
I know of a few being put together a couple of years ago running renault V6tubro gordini engines and UN1's, but no v8's let alone a V10.....
being a member of the dutch kitcar club I allways wondered where they where. I havent had the pleasure yet of building an ultima, but as my Sylva Striker 4age 20v vvt is almost perfect (after 5 years of fiddling) it will need a new home in the next year so, let me just decide on what to build next.
Might be interesting to know that together with some friends/formulea superlights members we're putting together a Dutch Kitcar Trackday club, we attend various events on Zolder Zandvoort and Spa mostly the events are put up together with the seven mania and formulea ford boys.
So if you want to do some serious testing or just being able to drive your car the way it was desinged for..... come allong sometime.
regards Thomas Rouw uit apeldoorn!
also feel free to strawl around the KCC website and forum sometime, maybe you'll like it
if you want to know more about the trackdays just mail me thomas.rouw@gmail.com
