I went to the upholsterers today.... He'll be done at the end of this week. He's done a great job of all of it, the pod for the speedo/tacho looks awesome, it and the gauges were packed away so I couldnt get a shot of those. You can see in the dash shot how I have a recessed area, the gauges are on a panel that mounts into there and is recessed a little from the face of the leather. He's also brought the leather right around to the pillar at the side of the dash. The bulkhead panel has another cover than pushes in around the harneses. Red Sparco harnesses....mmmmm....mmmmm... MMMMM

Very luscious Crafty! Bet you can't wait for the final fit...mmmmmm!

Is the intention to have the rear panel removable? or are you going to 'skin' it with ally first?

Are you packing the void between the rear panel and the firewall?

cheers

Velly nice...you likeee, velly hot....

Bulkhead is removable. There's Dynamat and one layer of foilbacked insulation on the body side. Other than that the void is empty.

Those dice behind your seat look to be a bit large to hang from your (non-existant) rear view mirror.

The photos do not do justice to the work on the seats... looks even better in the flesh. I think it needs to be photographed in natural light.

Ive got 2 Audi vents... they are gonna be mounted in a leather clad pod under the dash, similar to the Speedo/tacho pod but smaller.

Im so stoked with the black/red leather I think Im gonna get a pair of FMB's made to match so me Joolie looks the part.

Clock is going in place of a wideband O2 sensor.... the clock may end up donating its exoskeleton so that the wideband matches... having trouble finding a silver faced O2 gauge... anyone seen one anywhere?

This is an old shot of the gauge panel....

Ive just looked at those photos again.... he's done a great job of centering the patterns....

Gonna get the same patters stitched into the heat sheild under the bonnet, he's going to edge it properly and pad it a bit....

Damn it... he's done such a great job I think Im, gonna get him to cover the WHOLE CAR in black leather with red stitching.... I mean the outside.

I personally can't wait to see it applied to the outside of the car!!!hehe

Is that to appease the strict 'Hong Kong' pedestrian preservation society, or is that down to your infinite 'taste', Grant???? Sounds like you're 'Jeff Texas' baiting again! hehe

Thanks Rene.....Yep, they've covered the roll cage and it looks great with the red stitching

Its hard to take good photos in the workshop, the flash is making the black look very dark and shiny and the red irridescent, its not really like that. I think some shots in natural light will give a much better indication of the colours. It will be finished tomorrow and back home Tuesday.

Things left to do
Exhaust - all the bits are here
Wire in dash
Wire in sound
Fit seats and belts
Paint inside rear clip and fit
Suspension alignment
Glass and headlight covers
Fill + bleed brakes

Just bought HP tuners and a pair of wideband o2 sensors....planning on learning a bit more about tuning the LS. Im going to be looking rather than touching

NOw this is how to move it around in Hong Kong.... no flatbed towtrucks... so we did it rockstar style and drew a crowd... You can imagine what I was saying to the guy on the last photo as he was tying her down...

I can't believe there was no crowd around. Would have expected people hanging out of the windows with that going on.

That's a beautiful interior, Crafty. Keep up the good work and you will be on the road in no time. What's your expected launch date? I expect to see that car showing up in car mags soon...with girls hanging all over it.

That looks AWESOME!!!!! I love all of the detail on everything inside there. The red stitching really sets off the black too. Very nice job.

Windscreen is in. Exhaust is done apart from the tip... I'm going to build a single, oval shaped tip and bring the two pipes into one. I should have photos of the exhaust tomorrow (sans tip)

Had a few people in and out over the weekend. One guy says "why does it have two seats?" the (correct) answer was "whats the point in having one of these if you're not going to use it to get laid"

Oi!......are you 'aving a tin bath or what? That is exactly what I intend to do on the GTW, is this a case of great minds thinking alike or is one of us a copy cat?
