I am looking for a transaxle that will be able to deal with 800bhp from a Chevy V8, anybody got any recommendations?

Forget the BHP, what torque are you talking about? And what sort of usage? Drag/Track/Street?

You could opt for a worked G50/50/52 - see California Motor Sports, you can even get a sequential shifter installed...

A Hewland could do the trick - but can you cope with the whine of the dogs on top of the engine? But, be prepared to spend >20k

You could get a CIMA box, as used in various super cars... some of their boxes will handle 1000NM... again, in the 5 digit range...

A Poker GT2 Turbo Box will hold 500ft pounds out of the box, but may have issues with 2nd gear, you can pick one up for around 7-8UK...

I don't think a Mendola is what you're looking for either... or Quaiffe for that matter...

Depends how long you want it to last... buy a swag of G50s and replace them when it fails may be a good option...

Also the 4 speed from a 930? might be a good idea, very strong, and realistically with the width of the torque band in a Chev, you only need 3 gears anyway...

Problem with that box is they arn't doing a Helical Gear Dog box..... So only buy if you don't mind noisy Straight cut gears.....

1000bhp/800lb/ft sounds good to me and at a price of 6-7K it is a lot cheaper than the Hewland NL6 box
