Ook goedemorgen,
Yes, it's been very busy, but not as much on the ultima as I wanted.
We have been building this from scratch: wheelsurf

I bought the engine from Kronenburg motorsport in Geldrop (netherlands)
It's around the corner and he often does/have engines for me.
Because I used to build my own engines before I have a good understanding with the guys there.
They also have their own motormanagement system (KMS) witch is good and affordeble.
The V10 is a testengine from the factory.
He often buys 50 to 100 engiines there, lots of v8 too.
And there was also (my) V10 laying there.
Were going to open it next week.
I want to put quicker camshafts and 10 trottlebodies on it.
nice exhaust and no enviramental stuf on it must bring 550, I gues.

But don't you have a problem with Dutch MOT? Because there doesn't seem to be any place for a "katalysator" (what's the english word for that?).
What kind of performance will you be looking at?
Can anybody tell us how does it work with "BPM" in the Netherlands? Because it seems to me that you'll need to get a SVA test in the UK and then import the car to the Netherlands. Then, you're obliged to pay BPM, right? How much will this be and how do they define it's value?

Call the RDW in Veendam
Just keep all "bonnetjes" for the stuff you bought in holland, you've allready paid Tax on those parts so they can't by law quote that for BPM, the best way to get around this is to only have to pay tax for the chassis and body kit, which is the car Law wise, that would save you a shed load of money, if you use a used engine and box purchased abroad, make sure you pay Parts tax on that 4% and keep all paperwork assoiciated with it, take all the stuff to customs when applying for plates, and have everything on show appart from the parts you purchased at ultima you'll have to have the bill from ultima which states the exact amount of money spend there, and if they're willing they should let you get away with paying BPM over the Ultima parts alone. This way is not illegal but requires a shedload of work, but can save you an enourmous amount of money.
there are numorous folks at the dutch kitcar club (www.kitcarclub.nl) which have gone this route who will be very happy to give the advise you need to stay legal but not pay to much tax.
if you want info from guys who know their stuff around BPM SVA and the dutch RDW contact www.speedon.nl they do Intermechanica, Raw engineering, Gardner Douglas and others. ask for Mischa or Bas.

Donkeasy,
So the v10 fits the Ultima chassis ok? Much in the way of mods needed?
I am now at the point in my build where I have to settle on an engine myself!
Obviously the simplest solution would be the LS7, and I am sure it would be a good choice...but.....I really would prefer a shorter stroke, higher revving engine.
The V10 is interesting, but now I have bought the Reg plate V8 VUM, I have a bit of a problem!!!!
Since I have had AMG Mercs in the past and found the engines to be virtually bullet-proof, I have to say I wish I could source a good AMG engine for my project, but they seem hugely expensive in the UK, and I cannot seem to find anyone expert in AMG engines here that will help with the project....
Don't even know if they would fit!
Any ideas or contacts would be gratefully receieved!
Good luck on your project!
Keith

I think the MB-AMG E55 or E65 way is very good,
if you look in my old foruminputs there is a lot of info.
These engines are not very expensive, and very relaible.
I didnot choose for them because I preffered the high revsound.
Good luck and remember:
There is no wrong choise, only......
