Currently have an XTR2 and am looking to change.

What's the general consensus on trackday running costs?
Do most of you run on your road tyres or have a set of trackday wheels and slicks?
Generally are they fairly durable? (one of the reasons to change)

And what about day to day running costs. I'd imagine fuel bills are a little higher than the Westie but how uneconomical are they? do they break 2 figures?

Will be having a very good look and long chat with Ultima at Donington on sat, but any unbiased views would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

When it was running right it was fantastic, very sweet handling car. Ours had custom shocks, carbon front end, motorsport APs etc. It weighed just under 50kg less than a factory car and considering the size of the engine and the power it went v well. Did a 12.5 @ 110 at the pod without changing anything.

But these times were few and far between and can't go into anymore than that at the moment incase it harms our case

Got a website if you want to check it out (still unfinished) www.xtr2.net

Hence looking for something a bit more "durable"

Cheers James,

After reading through Stigs excellent build diary the difference between the 2 marques and how they're operated is very obvious.

Really need to consider costs now. XTR was nearly 50% over budget and it wasn't even finished, so god knows what one of these would be. May have to make it a 10 year build
