Sky rang me today to ask if I want to extend my contract by 18 months if there’s any deals, I said yes please, there was then a pause and they then said there isn’t any offers on at the moment so I’d be paying more!?! I then asked why did you ring, the girl on the phone said she didn’t know. Bunch of clowns!

I’m paying £85 a month for all tv channels and multi room. I’m going to cancel the movies soon as it’s st (I’ve been saying that for months now!)
It does get you Paramount+ for free though and that's an excellent platform.

The audio though isn't very good - it's mostly just stereo. That's a paramount uk issue rather than Sky, although accessing AppleTV+ through Sky and not getting Atmos is a Sky problem.

We have Sky Q with Original package at £35 + Sky+HD pack £14 + SkyGoExtra£0=£49. Also get F1 free as a legacy customer. Is this an ok deal or could I get something better ?

If it was just me I’d cancel it without issue, but my 2 girls use it extensively, including my autistic daughter who has certain films and programmes that she enjoys a lot when anxious and needing some downtime. They use it in their iPad too. Annoying Sky Q and Sky Ho just work and there is no alternative.

Cancellation is in progress so hoping to get a better deal before d day

3rd call now and basically go no where but as its out of contract the mrs caved and agreed to reduce the costs but its still £10 more than we pay now so its just over £100.

The only bill I dont deal with / sort. I need to train her in haggling but she said every single person she spoke to just didnt care.

I have a similar bundle just without kids channels, best they could do was £115, up from £98.50. I too am leaving mine to cancel and going with freeview/netflix/amazon/discovery+/nowtv/disney+ as they cover everything we (family of 4) watch. With separate BB it works out around £70/m. Will miss the ease of Sky for bringing it all together but saving ~£600/yr I think i'll cope.

Have you looked at Virgin?
I was due to swap to them, before they decided they couldnt install to my house, and the deal was identical to your list - ie all the channels etc - for £70/m, i think that deal is now £80/m

I am out of contract. In the past I had to do the old I want leave rigmarole to get a deal, last time thought I just phoned and said got a better deal and they sorted me out. So going to do the same shorty, but was wondering if I go into a new contract with Sky Q, can I change to Sky Stream whilst still in contract?

Reason being is I dont want to move to Stream, but might have to. There are trees in the line of sight and the installer said once they are in leaf it will probably disrupt the signal. The dish needs to be moved and put on a pole. Im renting currently so would need to get landlords permission. Which might be fine.

Im just thinking I will see how it goes, if it gets bad ask to have the dish moved, if cant do that then move to stream. Just dont want to be stuck in a contract for Q and not be able to move if I need to.

Guess I need to discuss it with Sky but wondered if anyone knew

Whilst not a specific answer to your question, sorry about that, but we had a similar issue with line of sight. Trees in leaf interfered with signal on windy days. We didn't bother Sky with moving the dish, just got a decent independent installer in who confirmed that our analysis of the issue was correct, moved the dish to a better location, and made the whole installation to a far better standard than the Sky bods.

Yeah had the same in my last place. The tree in the neighbours garden opposite. While I was umming and ahhing what to do about, apropos of nothing the neighbour had their tree cut right back. Winning

Just been reading some of the comments and its a familiar story it seems.
I've been a long term customer of Sky + for 23 years now and just wanted to reduce my payments a bit due to the forthcoming price increase.
Rang the contact number and finally got through to the call centre in India so just wanted to cancel the F1 channel as I don't really watch it anymore since it got boring but wanted to keep the Sports channels. I originally had to pay extra to have F1 so naively though it was an easy case of just removing it but apparently not.
Because its now all in one Sports package they wont do it. My contract runs out in June so told them I wouldn't be renewing and eventually got put through to complaints. Logged a complaint and said that I wished to cancel.
After a bit of to-ing and fro-ing with the online chat box, they did offer me a slightly better deal with the threat of leaving but by that time I'd had enough and found out that you can cancel within 31 days of receiving a price increase notice without a penalty to terminate early.
I've now done this and wont be back.
Think they will be loosing more and more customers over the next few months as the price goes up and the content goes down

I wouldn’t mind looking at virgin when my current Contract is up. But the bds gave up rolling out new areas and we haven’t got the cables.

I’ve got Sky Stream at £24.50 per month. Just notified it’s heading up by £2. In a way that’s not much but nearly 10%!!!

I got the letter to say my sky signature package was going up my £6.50 a month so rang to cancel.

Was adament I was going to cancel this time as £84 a month is madness. I know the kids and wife use it loads but it was getting binned.

I'm weak and when they said they would keep it at 84 I caved. I'm still unhappy about it and have 31 days to change my mind so it may get binned yet.

I'm a week into the having No Sky option. They didn't even bother to call me, just sent a crappy standard offer via snail mail.

The equipment has been packed up in the supplied cardboard box waiting to go back.

I haven't bothered with the Freesat 4k box yet, since pretty much everything we watch is on BBC, ITVx, YouTube and Netflix. Amazon Prime has just shot itself into oblivion from it's next renewal too.

Mines the same, I’m going to at least cancel the movies but that will lose paramount

Couple of years ago I dropped Movies and took Sports instead but Paramont+ still works so you might be ok.

After a few months we binned off Sky stream and cancelled the contract as the UI was utter shyte, and was constantly buffering, and thats with Gb internet and them pushing out almost weekly software updates

You only need to look at various Sky forums to see it is not a great product.

When i called to complain and asked to go back to SkyQ, the guy on the phone just actioned it and didnt even bother to ask why.

I’ve had stream for a month, I think it’s a huge improvement over my Q.

Not having to reset the mini boxes must save me an hour a week in free time too
