Good thread - bit of a bump to see if anything else new out there worthy of the cash?

Amazon US and Logitech US just had a big sale on the Ultimate Ears PripleFi 10, at an amazing $99. The TripleFi 10's are regarded as one of the best IEM's ever, shame the sale was US only.

As for more reviews, I will fill in more after the holidays smile

They seems very cheap!

Say the SE110 are £55, the SE115 are £65, and the SE210 are £75 - is it worth going for the SE210s? Or anything else around that bracket you'd recommend?

It depends what you want from your IEM's.
The SE110 and SE210 offer quite good clarity and detail, but lack severly in bass response, the SE115 are the opposite.

In that price bracket, and from the ones I have heard, I would recommend the Soundmagic PL50.

I read a few reviews, and whilst well liked for sound - were a bit unsure as to build quality of the SE50 - is that something you found an issue?

They compared them to the Klipsch Image S4 - is it a fair comparison, or does the SE50 really sound good for the price?

There were some problems with the glue used onone batch of the PL50's, but that should all be fixed by now.
PL50 vs S4, both are very good, PL50 wins on clarity and detail, S4 wins on dynamics and comfort. A tough choice really, depends if you like a nautral or more dynamic sound.

I see the S4 doesn't come with any foam tips - any particular ones you'd recommend or are they all much of a muchness?

I don't really, read never, use foam tips, but Comply foams are said to be good and the Shure black foams are rated highly as well.

Any reason or just personal preference?

Personal preference, I find them fiddly to fit and not as comfortable as silicone tips, and they darken the sound on some IEM's.
Btw, Comply T100 and Shure black foam fits the S4's.

Cheapest place is here: http://www.pricethriller.com/index.php?main_page=p...

However, never heard of the site - no reviews or comments elsewhere aside from their own promotion. Free worldwide delivery - seems a bit too cheap. Site is registered to:

Mushtaq, Nasser (633217)
516 Leagrave road
Luton
1rh, , lu3
GB

No company registered in the name of Pricethriller or Pricethriller.com - not always a bad sign though.

Hifiheadphones seem out of stock.

Never heard of that place, there are plenty of places outside UK though, focalprice is apparently a good one.

As a slight bump to this - I forgot about new headphones until I went through Heathrow, and found the Image S4 for £44 (tax free) in HMV. Cheapest online seems to be over £60.

Seem good so far, but they're still new - slight discomfort (starting to fall out) after about 5 hours use on the plane though, but were fine up until that point. Seem fine again when tried today.

I've just bought a pair of Soundmagic PL 30's having been a die hard Senn fan for some time. Despite the crap name these in-ears are really good.

Plenty of reviews out there but for under 40 squid they're fantastically good value with performance and build that befits options twice the price from 'established' rivals....

I have a set of SE210s, and I wouldn't say they lack bass as such. I tend to listen to a lot of classical music and find that headphones with tons of bass sound unnatural. What I did find was getting the fit right makes a huge difference to the sound.
