32" ish TV for OAP's
Discussion
My grandparents (mid 80's) require a new TV, mainly due to my Grandma slowly losing her eyesight . They currently have an old 26" CRT.
They've got both Freesat and Freeview boxes, but generally use the former (if that makes any difference).
Looking at around the 32" mark, maybe a touch bigger, but 40" is too large.
I've been set a budget of around £300.
They need something that is easy to use, has a clear image and also has decent speakers.
Any recommendations?

Have a look at LG. Good clear simple remote. Sound is okay, but most flat TVs will not be as good as old CRTs. Good picture, far clearer than their old CRT!
Do their Freesat/Freeview boxes record? If not they can get rid of them,

My folks recently wanted a new TV to replace a broken early 32" LCD one. My mum was insistent that they didn't want a bigger TV but when I showed her that the newer ones have very slim bezels and that a larger size was actually only a fraction bigger than the TV it was replacing. I think they got a 36,37 or 39" Samsung which my dad is delighted with as he can watch without squinting, mums favourite seat to TV 2m Dads 5m
Reason for the post is don't discount other screen sizes based on screen size maybe check out the physical dimensions of the whole unit and compare those of the old CRT with a new LCD.

Thanks for the replies chaps.
My Grandad wants as big as possible, Grandmother is less so enthusiastic of anything big, even though it's her that watches most TV and is losing her eyesight - it's safe to say that she doesn't like change.
Soooo, what I'm going to do is take our spare 37" TV across to them and see how they got on with it...
Cheers again!
