6m Living Room, 55 or 60 inch TV?
Discussion
Our old 40 inch Samsung has died, so its time for a new TV.
We recently extended our house so we have a 6mx6m living room and the 40 inch looks too small in the corner.
Does anyone else have a similar sized living room, and what size TV is about right? I want to get a good size for films, but don't want to dominate the room if possible.

So li looks like the 60 inch is a winner!
We have the sofas down two walls, with the TV in the opposite corner. Sitting at the end of the sofa can put you over 6m away.
We had already thought of the cardboard temple, but it's real world experience I wanted to hear. A 50% jump in size will always look big initially.

I've decided to go for the 60 inch Samsung UE60U7000.
I took my wife to currys tonight thinking that she would hate it, but I showed her all the sets I was considering and she wanted the largest TV available for our budget
What she may be about to discover is that they look a lot smaller in the shop I took my wife to currys tonight thinking that she would hate it, but I showed her all the sets I was considering and she wanted the largest TV available for our budget
It arrived yesterday and it looks fecking huge! My daughter physically stepped back in shock when walked into the room.
60 was definately the right choice.

Cardboard template is a good idea, but it will look huge; your wife will think it's ridiculously huge; and when you take it out of the box after you've bought it you'll both think it's absolutely massive.
But then after a couple of weeks of watching it you'll both agree that it's a good size, and could even get away with having a bigger one.

On Friday I was stunned at the size and detail from the screen. On Saturday I was just watching TV. By Sunday night I was wondering what a 65 inch would look like
So the correct answer to my original question is..... 65 inches and above!
