Well glad you all had a good time
How did you manage to get parked on there? I assumed you would just be parked up by the Casino! Good work.
Just drove onto it and parked......police came and had a look, but as we looked over 21 and weren't in modded Saxos we were left alone to enjoy the crowds of excited school kids. How did you manage to get parked on there? I assumed you would just be parked up by the Casino! Good work.
Just want to say thank you to all who attended James Staines memorial cruise at Southend seafront last night, people come from far as away to attend. We had 20 TVRs turn out for James. We left Tescos heading into Southend with the lead car with a camera on board packing up with a problem, we then had another car with a problem starting and one losing reverse gear. These things happen such a Shame for these people. We made of to Artillery way for the photo shoot with 13 cars and went round 3 times where James lost his life,He would ov loved this what we done.We then went to seafront and plotted up on the main promonard where we all got so much attention it was unreal.Everyone loved the event which we want to do annually. We put the griffith on a low loader and got him back to PR WOODS TVR WORK SHOP which was good and the Tammora went home to Shoebury with the RAC.
If want to post pictures on here of event it would be great.
Maney Thanks: Colin Matthew

What a fantastic evening, great to see such a good turnout of TVRs. Condolences to Colin, Matthew & Family for your tragic loss, well done for organising a fantastic tribute for James.
Unfortunately it was my Griff which packed up on the way to Artillery Way complete with video camera and still camera..... typical! Many thanks for Dave in the purple chim for coming back to assist and help with swapping various parts from his car to try and fix the problem and Phil from PR Woods for also coming back to assist. Unfortunately it was not something that could be fixed to Phil very kindly picked me up and dropped me off down the seafront.
The TVRs looked fantastic all parked up on the promenade and certainly attracted a lot of attention. Credit to the Police for there sensible approach to the matter. I was hoping to get some nice long exposure shots of the cars on the seafront but unfortunately the tripod was in the Griff.
Many thanks to Phil at PR Woods for recovering my Griff back to his workshop and then dropping me home. Many thanks to Colin and Matthew Staines for staying back and helping load Griff onto the low loader and then unload it and transfer it into the workshop. I owe you some beer tokens.
Here are a few casual snaps from the evening....
I love the caring for the environment slogan on the trolley park behind the blue Tuscan - LOL
Looking forward to next years meet... you never know the Griff might make it next time.
Matthew

Lovely Photos, well done. My Chim never looked so sparkly, and you have done the meet credit. Nice sepia shots of the Griff......presumably sepia because of the age of the car??? Hope the problem, what ever it is, gets fixed.
Best analysis of my reverse gear problem so far is that the bolt that holds the reverse gear shaft in place has come loose, which will mean gearbox out and a rebuild. 'Twill be interesting to see how good the three month warranty that came with the car turns out to be - it expires on 18th August. Thanks again to Phil (I assume it was) who tried to diagnose it at Tescos.

Can't believe that is my car. Superb camera trickery I think, as it is a much used vehicle. Excelent photos all round. Well done.LaserTam said:
Well what a disaster was that was for me! RAC turned up in 20 mins, which was good. Quick diagnosis suggested might be the battery on the way out. Looks like when the guys gave me a jump start using the borrowed Anderson connectors (thanks for then lend), probably wasn't getting a very good connection. RAC man took the wheel off and connected his booster direct to the battery, and started.
Anyway, he followed me home and did more tests and battery is knackered.
I hope you guys had a good evening, with hopefully no more 'issues'
Cheers. Ian.
Hi Ian. Thank goodness only a battery. I thought I had jinxed you at Tescos when I asked if you had had any problems. Answer was something along the line of having never broken down and runs like a dream. Glad I could share some of my speed six ownership good luck on you.Anyway, he followed me home and did more tests and battery is knackered.

Yeah thanks for that Its an odd one - earlier in the week the car had been Essex to Linconshire, driven round a track all day and then home again. All fine. 5 miles down the road, kerrpuuttt. Oh well. Old battery is off, new one being picked up later, should be up and running very soon, hopefully.
This should be an annual event I reckon - maybe with some agreement from the council for space on the front etc etc.

I do have a couple that may be worth posting and I'll try and do that tomorrow.
Great pictures again Matthew.
Also, is there an update on your Griff Matt? Not too bad news I hope?
E-mail/p.m. me if you'd rather.

It is in with Phil at PR Wood at the moment. I haven't spoken to him as yet as I know he was busy this week finishing off a T350. I will give him a call later on during the week as see if he has had a chance to look at it.
The mystery of the missing reverse gear - update -
Car at Mat Smith's having the box taken out today to see where reverse is hiding. Then see whether it needs smacking on the arse and putting back where it belongs, or a complete rebuild. Dealer warranty ok so far....watch this space for further thrilling installments.
