Thunder in the Tunnels 4 - Date confirmed
Discussion
Hi all,
Back by popular demand, TitT 4 has been confirmed for Sunday 22nd November This will be the third anniversary of the original London Thunder event.
We will be looking at a similar format to previous events, with some new routes, and plenty of tunnels, ending at the Ace cafe for a hearty breakfast.
Pop it in your diaries now, specific details will be posted nearer the time.
I look forward to seeing you there
David

why does it have to be so late int he year?
My car hybernates during the long winter months.
Hibernate??? What on earth for? My car hybernates during the long winter months.
NTEL has explained the main reason, coupled with the fact that this was the only date the Ace Cafe could accommodate us.
Get your car out and drive it man

I can understand that it is an aniversary. Would it be possible to hold something similar in the summer months or would this rain on the parade so to speak of the November run?
Its a great idea, and we did one last summer ending at Silverstone for the TVR Tuscan Challenge racing. TVR Owners voted with their feet... and it was not very well attended. The reason being that people were on holiday, and there are many other TVR related events during the summer months, which we would not wish to distract from. I'm happy to arrange one of there is sufficient demand, but we will need to find an alternative end venue... any suggestions?WorAl said:

Yeah, me too. How do we get details of start times and start point?
BTW Is this the anniversary of the run done after the factory closure? Was on that one....
Lee. Details will be mailed much nearer the time.BTW Is this the anniversary of the run done after the factory closure? Was on that one....
We have run this every year since the big one, London Thunder, in 2006, always in November as an anniversary, and a mid-year one last year (i think)

How many cars usually attend? Anywhere near the number on the original run?
Not quite Lee, i don't think London could cope with that number of TVRs again, and teh police were not entirely impressed with my promise of only three cars parking on Whitehall.
The attendance has ranged from 75 to 220+ It depends on many things, most especially the weather. We always have the hard core die hards, who turn up regardless, and a few who just join us for breakfast at the end.
TBH i've done tunnel runs with just half a dozen cars, and its still brilliant fun
I expect that the convoy in from Berkshire will be a couple of dozen cars

Nice and early start with some high buildings in the background. (dunno who's car)
Real fun driving around London in the early hours with no-one on the road, then waking the clubbers as they leave
If i'm not mistaken, that looks very much like our own Tuscan Rat's car... Real fun driving around London in the early hours with no-one on the road, then waking the clubbers as they leave
before it met its maker thanks to a terrible fire

Ah yes; must remember to take the camera.
Someone asked on here if it is solely TVRs, as was the original run (well, with a couple of exceptions).
Do you usually keep in a Blackpool originated event. No reason for asking, other than interest (I will be in a TVR - God willing!)
